And actually here's the deck they will likely use since they won't have upped cards.

Code: [Select]
5i4 5i4 5i4 5i4 5i4 5i4 5i4 5i8 5i8 5i8 5i8 5i8 5i9 5i9 5i9 5ia 5ia 5ia 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5lc 5lc 5lc 5lc 5lg 5lh 5lh 5li 5li 5li 5li

Well i made an error. I forgot to take out Malduk's aether cards with account to Aether Pillar (3) and Lightning (6). This really stinks because i liked the stall deck theo made. Lets do some math though and see how we can make it to Round 6 no matter what.

We have 65 cards total, 24 death and 41 non-death. We need 15 death and 15 non to go on.

Soooo, at minimum we need to make a 45 card deck so we can salvage 15 death cards. The max size deck we can make is 48 (half has to be death).

If we put all the Aether and Death cards together we have 40 cards. We could add 4 amythest pillars and 2 discords to make it 46 and this is what it would look like.

Code: [Select]
4vc 4vc 4vc 4vc 4vl 4vl 52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52o 52o 52o 52o 52o 52o 52q 52q 52r 52t 52t 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 622 622 713 713 713 713 713 71b
I put mark of death because if it comes down to it we will need the death quanta if we are to do a 1 hit spike kill. Comments questions improvements? Also this way if we lose we can still make a deck with our 9 darkness cards + 16 death cards + 5 other cards and splash an element (although this will mean we need to take 2 dead cards). Hmmm.. maybe add 2 more cards to the deck to make it 48 so we can salvage 18 cards? That way 18+9 +3 other cards which we can splash (3 deflags, 2grav pil+grav shield, 1 fog, 2 owl's eye).

So if we go 48 i guess we would add 1 antimatter and 1 card from the above cards. What do you guys think? 46 or 48? 46 gives us a better chance to win this round slightly and 48 gives us a better deck next round if we lose.

ETA - also with Earth playing time again this round i am certain they will make sure to counter Xinef's deck so we are pretty much at minimum going to place 5th in this event. With all my errors and deductions that's pretty impressive. Although that just means how much better off would we be without them? I pretty much cost us 48 cards that could be in our vault right now. Argh.

If you lose this one, I dont think there's much chance to survive round6. Other cards are just scattered around different elements, and we're likely to play against :earth / :fire, and they will be able to do a decent deck.
You should definitely go with a strat to have enough cards for another round though. Anyway...

:aether / :entropy / :death trio is what I was thinking too, though again... deck is bound to have bad draws.  :(
If they go with that water/light duo they have been using all this time, I see you winning ONLY if you manage to fractal something relatively early with discord up, or catch them with lowish health before fractal. Early fractal would waste their light quanta, and give discord some room to mash quanta around, and maybe it will even force them to bolt creatures.
Deck is also not that easy to play as you need both room and quanta for fractal.

I probably didnt say anything you already didnt know yourself; its late here and I'm rambling random stuff  ::)  If only I won against that deck in round 2... Our life would be much easier...

I've toyed around with the deck a bit and it's not that bad. Like you said it is prone to bad draws but if they stall and only have ice bolts and a morning star this deck can win a war of attrition. As long as i can get out 1 bone shield or get a couple dim shields out they will have to resort to one shot killing me with ice bolts which need LOTS of quanta. If i'm correct they only use 5 ice bolts. That means they need to be at 105 water quanta. Also if i can get an early arsenic or discord out that would be very helpful as well.

Although if they don't go stall... well. Dead in the water.

I see :light used this deck against :fire , but without Purifies. I cant check myself as I'm away on a business trip, but new Purify is live, right?

Yeah it sure is. So that definitely hurts this deck even more now. We are going to have to get really lucky to pull this one out. I am glad i added the antimatter to the deck though. That could possibly make the difference in this matchup. If i can pull all my entropy cards early that would be really really helpful.

ETA - Although since all their water cards are now gone this would mean they would have to splash water which would slow down their deck (i imagine they will use momentum since they know we have dim shields and bonewalls) and have to use gravity pillars.
