Member Positions

I will fill in this section later with the roles that you will all have. I will go over this more later tonight and hopefully it works out for everyone.


Member Roles

The following post serves two purposes.

1. It shows everyone their member role in the team.
2. It shows the Warmasters the preferred order in which the team fights if they don't have enough cards for everyone to fight.

Teams are allowed to change the order at any time by modifying the post.

General - MrBlonde
General is the leader of the team who makes sure that other team members are doing their jobs and fighting their battles. General also communicates with Warmasters.Lieutenant - Malduk
Lieutenant is second in command. If one team member is unable to perform his or her duties, the Lieutenant is responsible for performing the job of that team member. Lieutenant will not get any bonuses when replacing the General or the Substitute during duel phase.Strategist - Mastermind79
Strategist is in charge of planning team overall strategy. Each round, Strategist starts a topic that talks about opponents strengths and weaknesses, for example what cards the opponents have left, what kind of decks they like to use, etc.Vault Organizer - Smuglapse
Vault Organizer makes sure that the team Vault is up-to-date at all times by adding and removing cards when needed.Deckbuilder - Xuru
Deckbuilder starts a deck topic for each round. Everyone on the team joins deckbuilding discussion, but it's Deckbuilders job to make sure that all the decks are ready on time and that none of the decks are illegal.Duel Organizer - Nume
Duel Organizer is in charge of all team duels happening during a round. If one or more team members are unable to fight their duels, Duel Organizer must inform the General as soon as possible and try to find a replacement.Salvager - Shantu
Salvager starts the "Salvaging/Discarding" topic. Everyone on the team joins the discussion, but it's Salvagers job to make sure that all discarding and salvaging are done on time.Substitute - Corrum
Substitute can temporarily replace any team member during duels, and can salvage 3 cards if he or she wins (other players substituting cannot salvage anything).Rookie - Home_Wreckaz
Rookie is a full member of the team but doesn't have any special responsibilities.[/list]

Using Process of Elimination...

Nume = Duel Organizer - He was the only one who expressed any interest in the position.
Shantu = Substitute - He was the only one who expressed any interest in the position.
Corrum = Vault Organizer - Of the remaining people, he was the only one who expressed interest in the position.
xuru = Deck Builder - He had no other preferred positions.
Mastermind79 = Lieutenant - He listed this position as his second choice.
Malduk = Strategist - He has been in a war before and I have not.
smuglapse = Salvager - The only position left.

Of course, MrBlonde makes the decisions, but since the positions are mainly just for starting topics that means everyone can be a part of every process.  This is just the fastest/crudest method to determine roles.

That sounds most excellent to me if no one has any issues with these roles. And thank you Smug for putting this together. I'm dead tired and was just about to do this. I definitely appreciate this.

ETA - BTW does anyone know the time frames everything needs to be done? I can't seem to find the thread with this (i'm sure it's looking me in the face).

I'm not sure if SG has given a timetable yet, but yeah. Duel organizer sounds like a fine position for me, so I have no issue with it. Part of the reason I volunteered for it is that it sounds like one of the main duties is to make sure to notify the general if someone is unable to complete a duel, and I check the forums many many times every day, either by computer or droid, so yeah I should be able to relay any issues in a timely manner . There are two roles that stand out though, where it does matter who gets them as others cant really "pitch in". Its Lieutenant and Substitute. They are the ones with right to sub if someone cant make it to the fight, or in other words, they are the people that will occasionally have to fight more matches per round.
No offense, but having the least experienced player on that position is not the smartest thing to do.

This looks good for the most part but I do agree with Malduk as well, the substitute esp. should probably be fairly experienced and active enough to fill in as needed.

i am mostly interested in that.

Also i agree with Malduk. There should be an expierienced person.

That is fine, I suppose someone else might be able to do it better. But then, I would be a vault organizer I think. What does he do exactly? Simply update the vault each round?

Let Blonde decide, I dont think anyone would really mind doing anything really. I just wanted to point out that those two positions, Lieutenant and Substitute, are the only titles that actually matter outside of our little hidden area (besides General of course).
Lieutenant subs for everything, Substitute subs for matches, and those two are the only ones that cannot afford to fail (aka not be there when it matters). Any other job we can all work together on if needs be.

Lol... i don't know why i'm trying to overthink all this. I just want everyone to be happy with there roles but in the end they really are just titles since i imagine everyone will be backing each other up like Malduk said. There is one role that is critical though in my mind... the substitute. That person HAS to be available week in and out. We had virtually no problems last War and only had to substitute one matchup. Hopefully it's the same this War. Lieutenant's biggest role really is just to fill in if we need 2 matchups subbed.

Alright hopefully these changes work. Let me know if there are any issues with this.

Deckbuilder (Xuru)

Strategist (Malduk)

Salvager (Shantu) - Don't take it the wrong way having your position changed. Not that i don't believe you wouldn't make a good Substitute but it's probably better to go with a veteran from last War. Course by next War you'll have proved yourself and made yourself a name. 

Duel Organizer (Nume) - sounds good to me. This role seems made for you.

Vault Organizer (Smuglapse) - I know you are going to be gone for a small period of time and would actually like it if Corrum could kind of hold dual roles and back you up here if needed.

Substitute (Corrum) - I moved you here because i know you have the PvP experience. If you don't think you can available to sub every week let me know. Although i'm hoping this position never needs to be used. Also if you could help out Smug with the vault if needed that would be awesome since i believe he is going to have limited access while he is on vacation.

Lieutenant (Mastermind79) - Honestly this role like the substitute may not have to do much. I would like it if you could just help out where needed. I know i can depend on you though since last War you were there til the end.
