I had thought about creating a "Tools" thread for chat, etc, but instead I'll just add a few things here.
I read through all of the War forums when they became public because I was dissatisfied with the chat our team used. I recommend typewithme to communicate. Unfortunately I had to share it with the Council and everyone loved it so probably now everyone will be using it instead of tinychat. Meh. Sample room:
