The card has only ever had one use for me, and that is shutdown stalls. (Afla + PA Thorn carapace). In which case, this buff means the afla could probably come out a turn faster. But it is a stall, so I need to look harder to see how much of a difference this makes in this situation.
Though the buffing of SoP would also compliment this nicely. Afla patience will be able to start building up damage faster. I don't really know how viable that deck is going to be. Testing and variance required. (Idea 1: Mono death SoSac stall, with afla skele with patience for a finisher. Idea 2: Death light, with mirror shield, afla photon, and afla lock opponent, stall through healing. Idea 3: Jade afla deckout stall, with healing through e-bond. Haven't checked beta decks yet.)
Still nice to see balance is still being kept in mind.
I think the biggest problem with aflatoxin is permanent removal. Only 1.5 shields can block cells (Mirror upped, upped and unupped jade). Otherwise any sort of cell lock requires protection for the shield, so you aren't accidentally overrun.
I also think rush is the other problem, where afla only deals with one threat, and eventually stops new threats. All the other quick creatures are still beating your face in while you slowly wait for the cells to fill your opponent's field.
