any way you slice it, its not looking good for me so i went with a semi-suicide deck to have the best option of discarding and yet still have a generic all around strategy of dealing with anything kevkevs (fire gen.) might throw at me

I'd like to run this against  :air
I'm still open to suggestions or tweaks on the topic.  Looks to me like Quanta denial slows most of  :air's options.  Gargs that survive a turn should be able to resist some CC.  Steals should slow any Owl's Eyes that might show up.  The Air deck that Chum3 ran vs. Dragoon1140 last round will beat me to the Earthquakes, that's the only one that concerns me.  May or may not swap a pillar or two for pendulums before the time runs out.  Still playing with that.

Changed some things up to accommodate other team members card options, and to make plastique more comfortable with my quanta generation.  ;)

I was also planning on using a similar tactic 3D. :) Here was my deck:

Kuroaitou vs. Istari.
 :darkness:air
Code: [Select]
593 593 593 593 593 593 5uk 5uk 5ul 5ul 5um 5um 5um 5um 5um 5um 5uo 5ur 5uv 606 606 606 606 606 606 606 606 606 7tf 7tf 7tf
Upped Gargoyles for faster damage potential, additional pillar for more :darkness generation. I opted for no Steals, assuming that Air would be too afraid of trying to bring permanents against us (or even using immaterial Morning Glories instead).

Code: [Select]
4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 590 590 590 590 590 590 5lg 5on 5uk 5uk 5uk 5un 5uo 5up 5up 5ur 5ur 5ur 5uv 5uv 606 606 606 61qSince I used the Entropy/Darkness last round I don't think Fire will risk using their same Dragon/Phoenix Rush because Antimatter would ruin them.  If I were them I'd use Immolation to counter, so I think I'll probably get Phoenix or Lava Golems or maybe even their own Rainbow Graboid.

3x Vamp Stiletto because I'm expecting minimum 2x Deflag, Stiletto for 1 :darkness vs Deflag for 2 :fire is a win for us.  1x Reflective Shield is a win against Poison Bolt.

Also, me and Kuro noticed that my opponent majofa was in the chatroom so we played a little game.  We said things like "hey Kuro got a sec" and "ready" in the general chat, and then dueled with a Darkness/Aether Phase shield deck, hopefully they were watching.  : P

Looking at the other decks:
TBeef I suggest going 50/50 with darkness pillars and pendulums cause you don't need that much Earth quanta in Rainbow Graboid.  Also you'll never have much quanta for Drain Life so maybe another Dusk or Gargoyle instead?

3D I suggest more pendulums because 9 quanta sources is low, even with 4x Devourer.  Once again I don't think you'll generate enough :darkness to make much use of Drain Life.

927 I suggest -2 Dragons +1 Nightfall and +1 Vampire.  3x Dragons has the potential to clog your hand with expensive Darkness cards, slowing down the rest of the deck.

More of a strategy post then a deckbuilding post eh?  Oh well, sue me.  : P

guy_f beat me to the punch
anyhoo...

[imgwidth=431 height=766]http://imageplay.net/img/m7Gbd101145/hot_girl_001.jpg[/img] wrong image

(loki, guy_f, plast, kuro, kj, 9#)

i didnt including torbeef, 3D, and Kael because i feel like theres room for improvement
and frankly i think Kael's looks ugly as hell shockwave kill water critters ded, so its not as ugly as i thought

as for torbeef's rainbow, i'd suggest something like this :-

Code: [Select]
4vh 4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 590 590 590 590 590 590 5i7 5on 5uk 5uk 5uk 5un 5uo 5up 5up 5ur 5ur 5uv 5uv 606 606 606 61q

one thing to note, we have 21 darkness pendulum left and 3 guys unaccounted for
if everyone AVG at 10 each (best case, rainbow grabs dont use much), we're short on pendulums
i'd suggest converting some cards into pendulums

-3 Holy Light
-7 Obsidian Pillar

+10 Darkness Pendulum

what say you?
