If you use five Fire Bolts on a Voodoo Doll (16 hp), each dealing three damage, then the Voodoo Doll's opponent will take 15 damage. I'm not sure why that is difficult to understand.

That discussion was before the buff, when the Doll had 15 HP.  Supposedly since damage causing death is not counted, it would be 12 damage inflicted.

I thought it was a good question. Not everyone knows how firebolt works (ie if it does all the damage at once, or in bursts of three)

But the question was about five different castings, each dealing three damage. Plus, the discussion was going on yesterday, after Voodoo Doll changed to a 0|16 creature. I'm not quite sure how 15 damage on a 0|16 Voodoo Doll would deal anything other than 15 damage. That's the point I was making.

AHHH ok, I completely misunderstood. That makes much more sense for it to be a common sense thing.

This card's ability description and health have changed. It is now :

0|16
Voodoo: If this creature survives an attack, damage and status is inflicted to your opponent as well.

This new description is confuse. So, if I use Rage Potion on Voodoo Doll, it didnt cause 5 damage to the opponent? Because, according to this description, it will only do that after the creature attack and survive. And, lets suppose I cast momentum on it, and it was targeted for a Lightning. The damage inflicted during the attack will be 1 (creature damage) or 5 (damage previously suffered by creature), or 6 (both)?

This description:
- damage creature - no direct damage to opponent.
- creature survives an attack - what damage is inflicted???

its saying that when the card recieves damage, if it survives, then it does the damage to the opponent

I basically means that after it is damaged, if it is still alive, it deals the damage it recieved to the opponent. So rage potion would deal 5 damage to the opponent from when it was damaged, then another 5 each turn for its attack. It was reworded so that cards like creamation that instantly would kill it, wouldnt deal damage.

personally, I find it more useful using gravity pull on it, rather than cremating it instantly, even if cremating caused damage.

My question was more of if the damage was dealt at the end of the turn or after each individual spell.  So I was asking if you killed it within your turn if it still did damage.

Its dealt after each individual attack, not at the end of the turn.

Cremate might well deal damage - but definitionally, the Voodoo Doll doesn't survive, so no damage can be dealt to your opponent.
