I can't believe nobody has posted the basic mono-dark deck here yet!

Cheap and extremely effective, especially against AI3. If you get 3 devourers in your starting hand you can usually lock down your opponent.

Another variation which is slower but could get some masteries would be to replace the dragons with vampires and throw in 2 eclipses in place of the drain lifes.

Hi there,

I'm new here and i have played for just a few days. But it seems i found an interesting deck.

10 obsidian pillars
6   drain life
6   steal
6   devourers
1   dusk mantle
1   stiletto

It's probably too weak in pvp but works fine against AI3. For the moment i won 6/6 and made 5 "perfect".
I was afraid of the one with reflect shield but he had no time to use it because steal+devourers suck all his quanta.

What do you think?

I used a deck similar to that, didia, except Hamster is right.  I cut down on a few other cards to introduce offense.

The deck was:

10 Pillars
6 Devourers
2 Dragons
2 Dusk Shield
1 Nightfall
5 Steal
5 Drain Life
1 Vampire Dagger

It did very well in PvP (I'd say I won 8 or 9 out of every 10 PvP games), although actual quantum locks were rare.  Many people have more pillars than you can devour or steal.

Recently, I went to an Earth/Darkness deck (for the Earthquakes) and dropping some of those cards listed above to keep the deck fast.  I also dropped both shields and the dagger, but increased the number of dragons.

I found that I quantum locked way more often, but the victory rate stayed about the same.  It's still pretty new, too, so I don't know if the track record will hold.  The deck above was very consistent in wins, even though there are some decks that it has real trouble with.

6 Steal sounds like more than you would need. Maybe replace 2 of them with Dragons.

I'm trying a build without any dragons:

12 Obsidian Pillar
6 Devourer
1 Dusk Mantle
3 Steal
1 Nightfall
6 Drain Life
6 Minor Vampire

Works pretty well. It's very easy to get a lot of darkness quantum, and while I whittle away at my opponent's life with minor vampire and dusk mantle, I build up darkness quantum for a devestating strike with Drain Life. Works pretty well, actually.

I've been running

4 Obsidian Pillars
5 Obsidian Towers
2 Black Dragons
6 Devourers
2 Dusk Mantle
4 Steals
1 Nightfall
6 Drain Lifes
4 Minor Vampires
1 Shard of Gratitude
1 Vampire Dagger

so far it works amazingly the end result is going to be all upgraded except the vamps and the dragons with maybe one more shard of gratitude. Unupgraded it works welle nough to farm AI3 and to win in PvP regularly but once you get 3 or 4 pillars upgraded you can start working on Half Bloods win fairly regular success rate.

To play this deck you would look at the match in 3 phases.

Phase 1: Quantum Control
worst case scenario you don't have any pillars and you draw first. Discard a vampire because you likely have one if not then discard a drain life. Your prority in this phase is simply to get out Devourers and steal your opponents pillar's (make those pesky quantum pillars priority). you want to absorb more quantum than they produce. play vamps once you run out of devourers in your hand and use drain life's to get rid of any nasty creatures they summon (i.e. FFQ's or Devour nasties or growth nasties). phase one ends once you have played all your devourers and vamps in your hand and y ou have 10 quantums built up.

Phase 2: Life Control
This phase is all about staying alive and keeping your health incoming higher than your oponents damage outgoing. you should still be using drain life to manage nasty critters that come out while making sure to build up plenty of quanta. not much to say here other than just keep focusing on gaining quanta and if you have 20 or more feel free to drop that black dragon out as you want to keep a fair reserve for drain lifes and he makes for a solid way to draw your oponents attenttion off your vamps and spend his quanta elsewhere than taking your dagger. you know your done with Phase 2 when you oponent makes their big play and you successfuly counter it. Usually this is in the form of them summoning a big nasty dragon or using that rain of fire to (in their mind) kill all your troops. It's hard to identify spacifically but most often it's the moment you feel like you have just the right amount of quanta and the right cards to spend it on to really put them in a completely unrecoverable position.

Phase 3: Watching Them Squirm
Phase 3 is the time you want to drop out your dragons if you sitll have them and if you have 100 or so quanta you can fee free to drain life em too. your goal is to begin this phase with a really strong move that shows your oponent that they really didn't know what they were getting into when they drew your name to play against and everything they have seen in your deck so far wasn't even an portion of your true power. basically your making that power move that decides their fate. Did i mention this is my favorite phase?

anywho lemme know what you think. .  i haven't been playing this game for but a month and i've been through a few resets of my account but this deck is my pride and joy :)

2   eclipse
2   imp. dusk
2   imp. steal

I like it a lot, but i am thinking about adding some liquid shadows and/or steals in stead of some syphon life or devourers.. Can anyone give me some suggestions? thanks:)

6x devourer
6x dragon
3x steal
2x drain life
13 pillars
Meh, it's a good deck, but it's pillar count is way to high unless your going to throw in more drain lifes.  If you are going for mana steal, there are better ways of doing so than mono-dark.  Dark-Earth comes to mind.  I suppose it would be a great speed dragon deck however.  Not very creative.
Hi there,
10 obsidian pillars
6   drain life
6   steal
6   devourers
1   dusk mantle
1   stiletto
Ah, a scorch deck.  Your trying to kill them with drain lifes?  I'd add fire if I were you.  The main problem with this deck is not every opponent is going to use obsidian pillars for you to steal, and if you can't get the quantums needed to kill your enemy, (91 if my math is right) you have no creatures and rely on your stilletto.  Still, it gets mastery, and should hopefully lock down your opponent.  Mark of Earth would help your devourers burrow.
4 Obsidian Pillars
5 Obsidian Towers
2 Black Dragons
6 Devourers
2 Dusk Mantle
4 Steals
1 Nightfall
6 Drain Lifes
4 Minor Vampires
1 Shard of Gratitude
1 Vampire Dagger
If I were you I'd thin down the deck.  Dark, as an element, is good at lots of things.  It's got creature control, permanent control, quantum control, vampires, scorch cards, you name it.  But your deck is trying to combine quantum control and lifelink, which might not work so well.  If you thinned it and went for just one of those two it would work better.

Just a tip, never ever use a dragon alone in a deck.  In a good deck, every card builds off of every other one to meet a common goal.  Unless you have a combo in mind, dragons are just high expense cards.
mine is:
12 obsidian tower
3   obsidian dragon
6   devourer  <-- still not upgraded :'(
2   eclipse
2   imp. dusk
2   imp. steal
6   syphon life
6   vampire
1   vampire dagger
Take out the dragons unless you're going to vampire them.  It's a good vampire deck, and the best mono deck that's been posted.  You might try duoing it with light or life, to try and adrenaline or bless your vampires to make them stronger.  I'd recommend light, adrenaline works better with unupgraded vampire decks.

thanx for the suggestions Gl1tch, but i'd like to keep it  mono, so what should i put in the 3 slots i'd earn? i am leaning towards 1x steal, 1 x vamp. 1 x devourer..
