It costs one , theoretically it can be run off the mark just as easily as white snake. But that's not really a main point here. And I don't think many would toss in an Oty just for the death triggers. Plagues and viruses are just better.

Why is it always about the mark ;-;/. People can run duos or trios with off element pillars too... You are right though. I meant to add an unserious tone by saying the combo is "only" three times larger; I don't think anyone would go that far just for death triggers.

All together, they could be a threat. I think a lot of cards are threats when played with others. That's what combinations do: turn unthreatening individual cards into game-breaking combos. With a death trigger, skeleton and vulture and bone wall, especially with more than one, still isn't particularly game-breaking. And it's already four cards.

Oty is harder though because first you have to save up the mark quanta to even cast the thing. If it dies, you have to sit there for another 4-5 turns to build it up again. White wyrm avoids this problem because the card itself is on element.

What I meant with the mark though is that it allows you to run basically a mono deck without the off element pillars.

I know what you meant with the mark. But monos are overrated. And there are pendulums now. And even with the cost at 2, you could still get a death trigger every two turns. It's not really a significant difference, since there will be a ton of other death triggers as well.

I guess I should probably mention that I always err towards making cards UP rather than OP.

Seems balanced enough as it is. Compares to flesh recluse nicely. One extra cost due to the ability for both unupped and upped, then another extra cost for upped for increased health. Wish you could make the cast off cost 1.5 though.. But it's fine as 1 or 2, and below average power tends to be better than above.
