It currently costs
Casting Cost: 2 elemental quanta
Activation Cost: 1.67 elemental quanta

I think that this is still too cheap. Random quanta is easy to acquire.

With 2 Quantum Towers you can use the effect already during the second turn. After that, you can use it every turn, enjoying SoDs,SoRs and SoDs that'll not only keep your health up at values far beyond the normal maximum, but make your creature's ability cost nothing so you can use the chest even more. The best'd be a deck with 6 chests, 6 Animate Weapon and random weapons with abilities.

Even if you increased the cost to 25 it'd still be too easy to use. If it had any other element but Other it'd make that specific element OP. I don't see any hope this'll ever be balanced. Don't get me wrong, I like the idea, but it just won't work.

huh  you say something like  'only random shard'?

i'm don't think it's 'only'   ungraded shard is a rare card that must use 1500 quanta to take it.   and with a card that can use it very easy (with very low cost)   i'm must say it very cheap to use.  :P

btw...   only this card with quantum pillar can play stall deck so easy.  healling shard and maxhp shard  that you can use every turn is be enough for you (even if you have SoR  you can use it to your opponent creature....)

This card generates cards of 3-5 (after noting the 1-2 upgrade cost reduction) random quanta in value. (Actually they are worth much more but oh well.)

Antideck out is worth around 3 :time per turn.
Card generation of random value is worth 2 :aether per card.
Since shards have a cost that is less than the average value of cards the aether value can be reduced to 1 :aether.

So this has a minimum per turn value of  :time :time :aether.
Converted into mono quanta this is 4 elemental quanta per turn.
Converted into random quanta this is 12 random quanta per turn.

So  if this card were changed to the equivalent of
Casting Cost: 0
Activation Cost: 12 random
Then it would be closer to balanced.

Note: This still would be sustainable with 4 quanta pillars.

I was thinking about it. I see that shard generation is unfair because is a upped card and it will be OP in any way.
So I need some fresh ideas for the Other card of my pirate's serie. Maybe this one you coment could work:
- Put a Shard from your deck on the top of it.
Or even:
- Put a random permanent from your deck on the top of it.
(for the same cost).

How do they get the treasure? They loot. If they loot, that means it once belonged to someone... in this case, mostly the opponent. I'd say it steals a spell from the opponent's deck. Because stealing permanents would diminish Steal alot.

When you find a treasure chest it could contain a good weapon.

Just Rare Weapons [Average Quanta Value 42/12=3.5]
All weapons [Average Quanta Value 42 Elemental +5 Random 43(2/3)/16=2.72916667]

Round to nearest 1/3 of a quanta

Just Rare Weapons [3.67=11 random quanta]
All weapons [2.67=8 random quanta]

0: sacrifice Treasure Chest to generate a random weapon into your weapon slot
(if there is a weapon there, it is replaced)

the upped one could be 6 random quanta?
