NOTES:
Synergizes with hourglass, SoB, precog, fractal, etc.  Balance mechanism = power lost if you play cards.
Let me know what you think.

Also, thematically, the idea is that Synapsoid is a brain cell creature that grows in proportion to one's intellect (modeled by the number of cards in one's hand).

I can already see this being abused with fractal :P (especially since it's in :aether)

As for the upped, the upped version (stats=opponent's hand size) I think has been done before. Not sure if your own hand size=stats has been done before, but I think so as well.

Ghostmare nerf! Great with Mindgate, too.

I searched for "number of cards" before I posted but I didn't find anything.  If you or anyone else find anything else though, let me know!  I don't want to copy anyone else.  So do you think that it would be best to keep it as the number of cards in your own hand and not your opponent then?  Also, I like that in order to be abused with fractal, you need at least 2 fractals: one for putting the cards out, and another for making them 7/7 (provided that they're not killed beforehand  :P)

As far as I can tell, this is a surprisingly simple idea that has yet to be exploited.  Props to you.

But yeah.  Fractal abuse is obvious here.  So much that it doesn't matter which element it's in.

Ok cool.  Thanks for the heads up.  I'll change the upgraded version then.

EDIT:  Just changed the upped version.  I don't know if it's too OP upped now though.  I was thinking of making the upped cost four but that might be UP...?  Thoughts?

Crow | jealous crow
Let me know if you disagree, but I don't think this card is too similar to Synapsoid after I edited the upped version, since affecting your hand and your opponent's hand are different enough imo.

Upped synapsoid has stats of opponent's cards+1|opponent's cards+1. Jealous crow has stats of opponent's cards+1|2. That little difference is too insignificant for me to feel that they're different cards.

Oh whoops, that's a mistake on my part.  I meant to change them to both affect your own hand.  Fixing now.  With that change do you feel that they're different enough?

EDIT: Fixed.  I'd also like some input on balancing, provided that it's different enough now.

Hey, I've been happily proven wrong!
:P Still, idt the "cards in your own hand" ability has been used, so I'd love to balance this then submit it to crucible

Still too easily abused with MA and fractal I think.

Still too easily abused with MA and fractal I think.

That requires 10/9 :aether, plus the rest of it, AND requires you not to play the cards. There are many other card ideas that are more easily abused with fractal.

CURATOR COMMENT

This card will not be permitted into the Crucible due to one or more of the following errors:

Correct these errors as soon as possible and feel free to submit again when ready.

Thank you. ^_^

Remember to use the word, not the icon, in the element section. (Aether, not :aether)
Use this symbol - | - to separate atk|hp.
Also, if there is no series, the 'series' section should be left blank.
Thankyou.

So let's think about the maximum attack.
If you have only one Synapsoid and one fractal in your hand..

How many cards should be played to get maximum damage?
<Upped>
5 cards in your hand + 3 cards played = 3*6=18
4 cards in your hand + 4 cards played = 4*5=20
3 cards in your hand + 5 cards played = 5*4=20
2 cards in your hand + 6 cards played = 6*3=18

So, the maximum damage per turn with one synapsoid and one fractal is 20.
If you left 4 cards in your hand, then it costs 21+ cost.
This seems a bit low damage/cost, but this card has potential if you have another cards,
Pretty Good Balanced.
