ART: AvusXIV, SOURCE IDEA: AvusXIV NOTES: As my previous cards, this one introduces another way of quanta production. Damage is exchanged for ressources. Each single, physical hit counts. This includes all attacks by creatures that are not considered as spell damage, and weapons. Momentum also ignores this shield because the bearer of this item needs to willingly, while being focussed, accept the upcoming pain. Momentum overruns and overwhelms - not valid here. SERIES:

Not much else.  I can't help but feel that for an Other card, it might be too cheap.  But compares to Shield and Solar Buckler, this seems decently priced.

The upped version will probably overshadow solar buckler too much since it produces double the quanta... The unupped might be ok though.

That's the only problem I have with this card. Why would I choose solar shield over this?
It's not too overpowered in a rainbow despite being other, so this is a good "other" card in my opinion. I would actually vote for something like this. But it does something that another card already does, and better. I'm on the fence.

There seems to be room on the card still... maybe add an interaction with spell damage as well to set it apart?

Solar shield does also absorb 1 damage/hit, whereas this shield doesn't prevent any damage.  Still, it's enough stronger than solar shield that I think a change should be made in the cost and/or effect.  I suppose you could make it last only a certain number of turns, wings/dimshield style, as well.

Because it reduces the damage by 1 (as dragonsdemesne mentioned). Especially against low atk creatures, this helps a lot -> Adrened units are much less dangerous with the Solar Buckler. With the Insignia, you benefit even big time but take the full blows.

I can't deny that. Same duration as Dimensional Shield seems appropriate to me. Thanks for the hint.

Good idea. The background of the castigation thing leads me to x1,5 damage for spells because it's the *cowardly, inglorious way of fighting*. But there is no space in the card text field for that...how to solve it?

I don't think this card needs a turn limit. Sure it generates quanta, but it doesn't block any damage. Doesn't that kinda balance out? Maybe a slight cost increase would be in order though.

How about something like:

That should just fit on the card (I checked in the card generator).
