Swarm of Bats | Plague of Bats

I'm not a big fan of the theme here.

You have a bat. You give the bat Air and it becomes bigger. Huh? Are we talking about a bat or a balloon?

Other growth creatures make sense like Forest Spirit getting to grow.

This is exactly what I was going to say.

You could get so much more creative with this card.  What about gaining x|0 for a certain amount of darkness quanta, as bats gain an attack advantage in darkness?  What about a swarming function similar to scarabs (minus the devour ability, naturally), where the damage dealt is x + 2, where x is the number of bats in play? 

I think the idea has a lot of potential, but it needs to be reworked a bit.

[Essence]

It's not "a bat" -- it's a swarm of bats.  The Growth represents the summoning of more bats into the swarm.  I was originally planning a "swarm of rats" card that mimicked this but used or maybe to grow, but I figured it would be too redundant.


And Kael: Yes, I believe the cost is acceptable, as not all Darkness decks are going to be packing Eclipse, especially as Growth decks tend toward fewer overall creatures and thus aren't going for the Eclipse+Swarm victory.

I want this card. One thought, don't think Zanzarino would like this card, helps the rainbow out more than the mono-deck.

I don't like this card at all.
Dark already has a way to start a critter out of the firestorm range (eclipse).
And, while dark has fewer cards than other colors, i think it has strong creatures already.

An idea, about this card :

give it a bloodsucker ability, gain+1/+1 on each succesfull attack, maybe just +1/+0 ?

An aggressive rainbow deck would LOVE this card, especially with Fractal. Add in Eclipse and we have some pure nastiness.
