I would actually prefer the coordinated misfire over the refund.  There's enough quanta manipulation with Devourers.

I assume if you cancel you don't get to choose a card, gain no , but get the free peek.

That would be seeing the hand + copy card + manual discard. That would be a bit too powerful.
Seeing the hand + premature casting would be a more reasonable amount of power to balance around.
