Well lets compare it to the spider which is a 4/2 for 3.  If you were to increase the cost to 3, the spider is going to be preferred in most situations since you aren't hurting yourself, however it would still have its uses because it ignores shields.  The upgraded version however is 7/2 for 4 versus 5/1 momentum for 2.  This is a no contest for fractal rushing since you can play two phages for every one spider.

So, a nerf is in order.  A cost increase would out it on par, and would still be useful for rushing, but another option would be to increase the damage done to self. I'd prefer the damage increase since it is part of the uniqueness of the card and it requires some more thought in deck making.  If you go purely offensive you leave yourself week against another rush deck, and if you bring healing or protection you slow your deck down leaving it weaker to slower decks.
I feel like this should be a lot more expensive o-o
You can easily Fractal this card since it's  :aether.
Mass CC would be the only good counter against this card.
Fractaling ANY Aether card instantly drains all :aether, so you'd just have to discard one at the end of your turn.
I see your point but this card is basically spending 2  :aether for a 5|1 creature.

What I was wondering was how much 1 HP equates to Quanta cost? Apparently, not this much XD

Wonder has a point since this card isn't affected by Antimatter and sort of gets free momentum. 1 HP doesn't really do much to quanta cost (see Lava Golem).

Will the damage be reflected by Jade or Mirror Shield?  That could balance it out a bit.

IMHO it either needs damage to opponent lowered by 1 or cost raised by 1.

The HP I was referring to was the damage done to the owner. As of now, it shouldn't be reflected by those shields, kinda like Voodoo, so I was considering a damage reduction, -1|-1.

That's probably the best bet to balance it then.

Yeah, if you can kill your opponent before the penalty comes in effect its only deterrent is no EM.  But if you are going mono aether you are probably used to no EM :P

Yes, Agreed.
But you could also have a price increase, or have the ability drain 1 aether every turn(sort of like flooding...), ect.
I do like the concept though, so rebalancing it is important.

Looks good [: The mechanics of this card could be interesting to have in the game.
If you quint this, it's basically a free 4 damage every turn.

Quite fun. Almost makes me want an  :aether deck.

But in all seriousness, it looks ready. If it matters much, I think that this would be a big hit within the game.
