For example, one suggestion showed a beautiful working combo with OTY, or to an extent.
Why not plate/heavy armour though? that could be powered with just a mark, and it'd give power over most new creatures to the field, rather than just the one.
It just seems to lack effect in a mono, as it fights against the shield, and gravity pull often doesn't really need the help.

Your better off looking towards what this can do in duo+

I'm not sure about the mechanics and coding of the game... Permanents may have the same issue, since the game  would have to remember which was casted first.
The game would have to remember what was played first but with stacking the traps like pillars I think it would simplify the coding a great deal. As an example with Shrink lets say it gets implemented and the mechanic used is they stack like pillars. Now if you played lets say 3 of them at once you would get a stack of three represented in your permanent slots. Now all the code has to do to "remember" which Shrink was played first is every time a creature is played activate Shrink's effect and subtract one from the stack of Shrinks, if the number of Shrink's left after the subtraction is 0 stop watching for opponent creature plays until another Shrink is played.

Still working with Shrink, having them not stack like pillars would require the game to actually save in some kind of storage device (most likely an array for simplicity) which position filled by a Shrink was played first and then every time a Shrink is used delete that position from the array and move all other positions up one in the array. This is a lot more work in terms of how much code is required. Stacking them solves the "memory" issue and results in a much cleaner field since you won't have traps cluttering up your permanents field.

CURATOR COMMENT

Minor nitpick (doesn't really matter since your card technically qualifies) - the use of the word, "its" differs from "it's", as the former implies a possessive form of an object, while the latter is a compression of the clause 'it is'. Fix that in your card description/table when you can.

Not a bad concept, but just one question - does this reduce CURRENT hp, or FULL hp? (One of these will drastically increase the effectiveness of a Voodoo Doll... >.>)

This reduces full hp, although I don't see the problem with voodoo, doesn't rage potion decrease full hp and it still counts as damage for the voodoo passive.

Rage Potion actually -damages- the creature (i.e. - affects the current HP, rather than full HP), which is what triggers the Voodoo passive.

...then again, I realize that full HP reductions might actually trigger Voodoo Doll's passive, so I have to recheck that. ^^;

Either way, If this fails in getting in as a trap, I highly support this as a spell idea. It also would give a  :earth :gravity dup more or less control of creature size. Which makes for a interesting mechanic.
