It's a trap so it is played cloaked and is triggered when your opponent plays a creature. Only one can be set off per summon, and it is destroyed upon activation. HP reduction is rounded up so 7 would become 4 for example

Interesting idea, but it would also limit you from playing creatures, you don't want your creature to have its HP halved. I'd say it's pretty balanced.

EDIT: Change hp to "HP" or "health"

Seems awesome, great conjunction with Oty. But if the creature had lets say, 1 health, it would stay the same right?

Is it a one time use only? In that case why is it a Permanent?

yes it would stay at 1 health since 1/2 rounded up is 1

Permanents sit on the field and do nothing until triggered (pillars are triggered by a new turn, graveyard is triggered by a death, shields are triggered by an attack, ect.) while spells have an immediate effect which this doesn't, and (most) creatures attack every turn which this doesn't or have a some ability that enhances an attack which this doesn't, and short term permanents are already implemented into the game, unstable gas and dimensional shield as examples

Okay I knew that...
My point is, that there was NO REFERENCE, that this permanent was temporary. It has a ONE TIME use, unlike Graveyard  (which is used whenever a creature dies) or Dimensional Shield (which is constantly in use throughout the 3 turns). If you want to say Sundial, for that one it's also included, it's a one time use and then it disappears.

Now your suggestion DOES NOT SAY, that it would disappear. Therefore I assumed it stays there. And it seemed like a ONE TIME USE, so then, Shrink would just occupy permanent space. If you want to make it a one time use card, you have two options. A spell as I suggested (you play the spell, the next card will have half the HP) or a permanent with a LIMIT ON HOW LONG IT STAYS IN THE GAME. So the permanent would not remain there while useless.

Also what would happen if you have 2 of these on the field? Double halving? (obviously you would not want that, so you'd chain them)

Ok i see what you mean now, I'll go back and include a one time use and destroyed after trigger mechanic in the notes so that it does not just trigger and then sit there taking up space, thank you for pointing that out.
With two on the field I think that with some of the card ideas I have in the series triggering multiple at the same time would either be op or trigger it for no reason so only one should be activated upon trigger (again I'll add this to the notes) similar to how multiple Nightfall/Eclipse only bestows one buff

I mean if you have 2 nightfall, it makes no difference, but if you have 2 Sundials, they cancel out.
As I see it, this card has a couple options...
1 Cancel one out and only work once
2 Twice the effect
3 Just work after one another, the first played would trigger first, second later
Not sure which one is the way you want it to work / way it should be working.

I've changed the notes on this card and in the series page to work according to the 3rd option listed where only one is triggered at a time. So if you have 3 out and your opponent plays 2 creatures, the first creature triggers the first one played, the second creature triggers the second one played and the third is left on your field waiting to be triggered. Apologies for the confusion.

An interesting card!

I'm 50/50 for it

I eagerly want to say "it should be a spell card!", but then again I reconsider and see that as a "one time use permanent" it would be fine.

also? how about "shrink" | "minimize" (unupped/upped) for naming?

I think the quanta cost for this works, would give gravity another edge of certain deck types.
What about this makes you 50/50 I'm always open to suggestions for balancing, additions to mechanics and what not

As for the spell card this post almost made me put up a poll on the series page but then I realized a few things
1. As previously stated all spell cards as of now have immediate effects while these can be dormant indefinitely (unlikely but possible)
2. If they were spells casting multiple traps would require the game to remember what was cast and in what order, which would be additional programing and permanents are already saved on the field and the only additional coding I see is to remember what was played first which could be solved with stacking identical traps like pillars and destroying one per activation of said trap

I actually considered naming the upped version "minimize" but decided to stay with the naming method used for the other traps which uses the same name for both

I'm not sure about the mechanics and coding of the game... Permanents may have the same issue, since the game  would have to remember which was casted first.
