NAME:
Shape Changer
ELEMENT:
Other
COST:
4
TYPE:
Creature
ATK|HP:
2|4
ABILITY:
Morph: When card is played it changes its form (element and ability) to match that of the largest cluster or pillars/towers in play
NAME:
Shape Shifter
ELEMENT:
Other
COST:
6
TYPE:
Creature
ATK|HP:
3|6
ABILITY:
Morph: When card is played it changes its form (element and ability) to match that of the largest cluster or pillars/towers in play
ART:
from http://www.clker.com/clipart-15452.html but is royalty free (from what i gather by reading terms of use (above image on link))
IDEA:
Ant-n-ero
NOTES:
When Shape Changer/Shape Shifter is played it changes its form (element and ability) to match the type of the highest individual cluster of pillars or towers -- E.G. if you have 4 fire towers 3 fire pillars and 6 water pillars -- the card will become water as there is more in the water cluster than either of the individual fire clusters
if there is most of Quantum tower/pillars it will transform randomly
if you have no pillars/towers it is played in its 'other' form and the ability is lost (unless reversed and played again)
After it has transformed and you reverse it it will stay in that form and cost its form's quanta to play again
upgraded has the same transformed abilities as unupgraded to not make this card OP....
This card only transforms based on YOUR clusters.... enemy clusters are not going to affect this card!

constructive comments please
what are your thoughts?
SERIES:
--N/A--
**NOTES**
~~Most cards are missing .'s at the end of many ability sentences - sorry but I'm sure you'll cope with it....
~~  :darkness card says Shifter on both when 1 should be Changer
~~ I have listened to people's views and changed the following:
:air cost for dive from 1 :air --> 2 :air (balances out due to higher life and now same cost than Wyrm
:darkness ability has gone from absorb (like on pests) to Lycanthropy costing 3 :darkness to balance extra life than Lycantropes
:earth has gone from having burrow ---> Stone Form costing 2  :earth (gargoyle has 1 cost) this is beacause this card has more inital life stopping it from being eaten/destroyed so the cost is 2 after careful consideration

~~@@**THIS CARD IS BEING ASKED TO BE SUBMITTED TO THE CRUIBLE NOW**@@~~
~~@@**//~~THIS CARD WAS ACCEPTED INTO CRUIBLE~~\\**@@~~

I put these together as the group of images is just variations of the card when played. You are not adding the seperate transformations to your deck, so no need to split up the idea. As a rule unless the idea is standalone, it does not need its own thread.

The table of details is ment to help your idea get read if you are having trouble with images. You should add the table for each of the transformations.

I've never used Imageplay as its reliability was questionable to me. I had a look through the file structure since the main site won't open, assumedly its some MAC enviroment crap but you are linking to the tumbnail. Your image links should be in the form "http://imageplay.net/img/m7Gbd64848/Shape_Changer_AETHER_UNUPD.png" to give this result.

yay it worked thanks
i was writing a reply with you post quoted and i notced something slightly different in the code

what my one had - the []'s
img width=282 height=436]http://imageplay.net/m7Gbd64848/Shape_Changer_AETHER_UNUPD.png[/img
What you posted - the []'s
img width=282 height=436]http://imageplay.net/img/m7Gbd64848/Shape_Changer_AETHER_UNUPD.png[/img

there was a img/ missing causing it to blur when the width and height were modified
thanks man +karma :P

/me starts to change all the images and add the rest

on my updating adventure i found out some more info that may help people when uploading pics
mine has some http://MY IMAGE IN TEXT AS ABOVE[/ img]
i removed all of the stuff (leaving the in there

and i found the real reason for the bluring --- it had added a sneaky '_thumb.jpg' to the end of the image text code above
e.g. blah blah blah...m7Gbd64848/Shape_Changer_AETHER_UNUPD.png[/img
the pink now said '_thumb.jpg' so i deleted the '_thumb' and changed '.jpg' to .png'

images now fixed ! woo :P

The only problem I can see is that some of these are WAY more useful than others.  Lobotomize, Poison, and Paradox are much more useful than Burrow or Dive on a creature with low attack like this.

Well when I made them I wanted to keep them using the same abilities as the card (element) type they were
because of earth the only abilities I could find that were not way overpowered (like earth nymph petrify) and were common to use on weak characters, were burrow - and growth (lava golem) and fire already has ablaze so i didn't want to have multiples of the same ability for different quantas...
Antilon has 2|3 and burrow so surely 2|4 is still better than that in some ways

all in all it depends on the deck being played to decide your ability --- after all this card is better than some common cheap cards (chrysaora/pegasus/antilon and more)
also this is more predicitve than using an improved mutation on a skele or ff as you know which you are going to get (unless quanta pillars) -- I once saw a black dragon with dive and an eclipse was out >_<

if used correctly you could do some good damge with these - but idk atm - still need more feedback :L

basically if you dont want borrow then dont use it in an all earth pillars deck ^^

I had had an idea for a creature very much like this, but scratched it. When trying to balance abilities I found that it's difficult to make something that's neither UP or OP in any of the elements. Especially since the abilities were the same as those of other creatures in the respective elements - which also (crucially) meant that the creature wouldn't bring anything new to the table for any element.

But in my idea the creature didn't change forms - it just got an ability (or status) based on the element of your mark. I think the 12 extra cards your version currently requires are just unnecessary (and would mean more work for the game developer) ... why not cut them out and leave the morphed form 'other'? My idea was an amoeba, so it wouldn't be strange for it to survive a flood - and your card also looks somewhat like an amoeba :).

well when i was making it i wanted each 'shape' to be unique which is where the individual colours/quanta type/ability come in...
i was toying with the idea to improve the upgraded versions abilities but i thought that reducing quanta cost/increasing other stuff (e.g. advanced mutation -- or only 2 cost for freeze) would make this a way too powerful card -- hence why the unupgraded has the same ability....

i'm sure it qouldn't be that hard for the developers to make them all - after all they are identical except ability and colour ^^ and those are already implemented into the game anyway.... if it doesn't physically change it isn't morphing into anything - just mutating or copy-cating or something -- it has to change....

about you first comment yes it is hard to make them neither UP or OP hence why they are full costing abilities -- however you cannot get some of them on their own cards --- e.g. Mutation -- you cannot get that on life cards (i dont think)
also most abilites are only available on one card --- e.g. deja vu - on deja vu ^^,  paradox on maxwells demon -- mutation on druid/elf  ---- so it is bringing power to the mono decks (duo too in some ways) - mono decks are good cheap decks for newbies and also for grinding rush decks....

yes this does make some seem usless - like darnkness - i really couldn't find anything else to put on there :L -- darkness and some others i need to modify to make them not UP --- also people don't seem to like burrow?!? i think that isn't that bad lol ----   need help here please

and it is actually jelly/jello ^^ lol (closest thing i could think of was that) to get it i thought - morpher... morpher -- flubber? no coppyrighted .... jello! :P

I don't like the gravity version of this card. The oytugh costs the same and is much weaker.

so you cannot have a better can than an oty now?? didn't know that was a rule o_O
lol jk - i had to put something on there to balance the other types - already i have had comments on some being tooo weak -- ( :darkness/ :earth) and if i downgrade that one ( :gravity) it will make that worse

Instead of saying 'it's too similar to XXXX' card or 'it's too powerful' can you please say how i could improve it

 :darkness needs improving?
 :earth needs improving?

does  :gravity need improving --- more comments please.... :L

~EDIT~ Added Poll to see which need improving -- as many choices as you want as it is to improve this card....

How about instead of changing the affects of each card, make the activation cost something other than the type it is. for an obvious one the  :aether could cost  :water to activate.
