Whenever the opponent takes damage, so does Shadow. If the opponent is poisoned, so is Shadow. If the opponent's weapon is frozen or delayed, Shadow is frozen or delayed.

Shadow automatically 'endows' your opponent's weapon. When the opponent changes weapon, so does Shadow.

X is the enemy's current HP, which becomes Shadow's max HP.

Xenocidius
NOTES:
Now here's a card that truly embodies Darkness's theme of using the enemy's strengths against them.

Basically, you target a creature when this card enters play. It gains the stats, skill and status effects of the creature. It does not gain its passive skills.

Whenever an effect like Lobotomize, Blessing, Rage Potion, etc., affects the creature, it affects Shadow as well. Interestingly, this means that if Holy Light is used on a creature, 10 damage is dealt to Shadow, regardless of whether it heals the creature.

Shadow does not suffer damage when the creature suffers damage from poison, but naturally it would have gained a poison counter of its own and would thus suffer damage from that.

Ugh ... and I searched and searched the forums thoroughly before posting this!

I was modifying this idea with a somewhat different effect when I saw your reply. It's certainly different to your card (different effect, immaterial), although perhaps too similar.

I do not want another debate on similarity, so I'd like your permission to submit this card, moomoose; I'm sure we both want to see this mechanic in-game, regardless of author.


That said, any feedback on the actual card?

EDIT (Y U no give me chance to post?): @patch: Maybe he's changed his mind? :) I can't think of any major coding complications myself.

Incidentally ... that gives me another idea for a Shadow of your opponent: anything that affects the opponent affects Shadow.

Seems like a more restricted crusader, and it barely has any synergies... I think a reverse voodoo idea is a dud because of the in-game mechanics.

sure id like to see the mechanic in game, but it was already in level 2 for a while, im not sure of the point to submit the same card twice, if getting to level 3 meant it went into the game, sure, but the exposure was already there.

as to the new card, gravity pull would tilt the balance a bit, it would probably be a nasty in combination with chimera, and the weapon part is a bit wonky.  but i see how you were putting the shadow on the player rather than a creature.  ive been rumbling around a few ideas in my head about how to change things up and make it distinct, but nothing is holding water

Very well. I updated the OP to the new version.

A few synergies I can think of are Guardian Angel, Shard of Readiness, Catapult, possibly Flying Weapon/Nightmare. Not much else though. Hmm ... maybe it can just serve as an 'interesting' attacker.

How you word Shadow makes it seem like it's permanently at the opponent's health.
Is that ability passive? Cause otherwise it would interfere with the weapon's skills.

I don't know what to make of this card. Feels kinda...empty.
