Okay, I updated the card with the nerfed stats.
I believe they will satasify the communities wishes.

Balanced, maybe UP now, but for me, it's balanced.

I say for both ability costs, and make it deal 2/4 damage, like arsenic...

Unless Eternity is involved, the maximum purify counters you would see with this weapon is 59; 71 when you factor in actual Purify cards.  Typical 30-40 card decks would see regeneration more like 25 on long games.  This can be countered with far less quanta, but the longer it takes to counter, the harder countering becomes.  SoG is in fact much more efficient, both in quanta and time.

I could see packing 2-3 of these in a FG deck, to counter FGs that use poison of any kind.  It can even heal those poor poisoned Otyughs... though I don't see why you'd need to, since the accumulating poison from the poisonous creatures could just be countered directly by purifying the player.

You got a point... Now I don't see it OP. If you manage to stall until you get <99 purify counters, then you'd have already killed your opponent, or decked him out. Now considering making the ability cost , at least for the upped.

Old Trees and Johannhowitzer both made wonderful points, if you have 100 purify counters, and your opponent had 100+ damage on the field, you still die. And by the time you even get 100 purify counters, most decks would have you dead long before then. I agree it is UP now, so reduce the ability cost by 1 and buff the attack by 1. I can see a very nice anti-scropio deck being made with this card. Hell, I can even see a whole new set of anti-poison decks with this card.

this card will have some decent art by the end of the month, look forward to it.

Nice art, Timer.  However,Cynxos, the word "gains" is mispelled as "gaisn".  Just thought I'd like to point that out before Kuraitou rejects it just for that reason.
