NOTES:
- A creature's HP can become 0 or even lower after being afflicted by a damage spell if it survives due to the effect of this card.
- When the player ends his turn, all creatures with 0 or negative HP triggers the permanent to absorb quanta and prevent them from dying.
- No death effects are triggered by deaths prevented.
- Unlike Flooding, the permanent is NOT destroyed even if there is no upkeep cost.
- Two or more Fountains do not stack, of course. Only one will activate.

- I'm considering putting in an option that lets the player destroy the permanent so that he/she can sustain a :life quanta pool. What do you think?

As delishus as we mentioned in chat. I think it's fairly balanced, all things considered. You're gonna need a lot of quanta to keep your creatures alive, which means it'll be very hard to use outside of a mono/duo, and it's not exactly worth it in a rush. It just gives Life that true grit theme it's lacking.

Let's look at some combos.. Mitosis+Ball Lightning (just cool)
Mitosis+Retrovirus
Voodoo Doll (this is a problem)
Armagio (also a problem)
Forest Spirit (great for protecting them in a mono before they grow big)

Although this is well balanced I do not see a high resilience theme in Life nor do I see how this fits the common interpretation of Life's theme as growth.

Would you please enlighten me as to why this is Life and not Light? (the mechanic is in question not the name)

because :life is the opposing element of :death....

This card basically lets the creatures cheat :death.

This card basically lets the creatures cheat :death.
Yes Life is the opposite of Death. However this is not demonstrated mechanically. In ETG the methods of Life and Death are not opposites and sometimes overlap.

Light has creature healing and Miracle. If anything it is Light that is cheating death. (Or Death is cheating death if you count graveyard.)

Anyone thinking what I'm thinking? I'm thinking that an RoL/Hope with this and Leaf Dragon is epic. An immaterial shield, with creatures that can't be killed without draining all :life or destroying the well, is just the thing a trio needs!
Perception is the source of misunderstanding.

Why, yes. I do have a Mindgate necklace. It's how I ninja everyone.

Yeah, I was worried about that.  I pay zero and poop out good cards, you have permanent control, and mass CC, or lose horribly.  And you'll need a LOT of CC, bonds are here to.

Similar to what Nepycros said, given a Leaf Dragon (of all creatures, really) and a huge surplus of :light, one could basically make their entire army immune to damaging CC effects, which is a cause for concern. The funny thing is if each creature that had 0 or less health triggered the Fountain/Well of Life, wouldn't this also cause Mitosis + Spark/Ball Lightning to be one of the most quanta-efficient (unless the Spark was delayed/frozen or rewound, but adrenaline counters the first two) combos?

I sort of like the permanent, but it feels a bit off to me... giving the permanent a 'self-destroy' option wouldn't make any sense in my opinion, as it's a fountain. Thematically, it can't destroy itself unless the water purposely clogged to stop the fountain from working or something... ^^;

With any  :light emitting creatures plus leaf dragon plus this, your creatures could basically become immortal.  Each creature supplies the  :light which dragon converts to  :life :life paying the cost to keep it alive each turn.  Add in Hope and the player is almost immune to damage as well.

In short this very easily becomes OP especially with an RoL/Hope deck(and with Mitosis now, this becomes much easier to do with a Life/Light duo).  While it might take a while to set everything up, both of these elements also have plenty of healing which would make it quite possible to do so.  At the very least, the upkeep cost per creature needs to be raised to at least 3 or 4  :life to prevent this combo.

What if it only protects creatures that have no active ability?  That way you can protect your little frogs 'n' 'trices, but not your Otyugh or a field full of Rays... or anything with Mitosis, for that matter.  No insurance for the poor mommy.

Just throwing it out there - it's kind of half-baked, since I'm sort of half-awake.
