NOTES:
Sea sponge absorbs poison from the player, then takes damage for 1 turn of that poison, then clears it. For example, sea sponge absorbs 3 poison. It takes 3 damage and then clears the poison from itself. It now has 0|7 life left. The unupgraded sea sponge can absorb up to 12 poison, the upped can absorb up to 15 poison.

This with plate armor could be a very fun deck if you know your opponent is using poison, and it increases :water/ :earth synergy, but it's not all that great anywhere else. It's balanced though, and it's a great idea.

Rage potion/steam machine deck.

I love the idea. I'd remove Purify from the game and add this.

It's a good thing it won't recover its health, otherwise, you can keep spamming with sea sponges. Anyways, good card, hope it gets into the reliquary!

Curators, any comments?
Otherwise I will submit to Crucible.

Guardian angel and this is a frightening combo. After all, you can very easily just keep healing it.

Who lives in a pineapple up under the sea? I think this is a good card idea. I'd prefer if it could counter creature poison instead though.

True, but as pointed out earlier, you are better off simply taking 6 purify if you are worried about poison. With sea sponge you have to pay 4 :water to play it, then 1 :water to clear only 3 poison.
Or you could pay 1 to clear all poison AND get healing....
As Malduk suggested this card is more intended as a replacement to purify which completely ruins poison decks but is otherwise useless. This card doesn't completely ruin poison decks, but certainly could reduce poison's effectiveness. On the other hand, it isn't completely useless. You could build a rage potion deck with sea sponges and toss in some steam machines. You could also use them for gravity pull if you wanted. They could be mutated if it turns out your opponent has no poison or they could be immolated too.
Anyhow the point is that the card is not totally useless if there is no poison. Also it isn't completely OP against a poison deck.

haha Okay but...
Maybe Moomoose will make an alternate card art for this card? Seems like his territory.
I like the card art. I made all the background/water part myself and used an edited public domain wikimedia commons photo for the sponge. It looks realistic which is the kind of art I like in Elements...
I didn't even think of the spongebob reference but now it is totally clear that 2 people mentioned it. I guess someone will have to make a card Gary | Gary....

I think the sea sponge art stands out too much.

I can lower the contrast on the sponge part which will make it the same dull background color if you think that will look better...
Should I?

Well, as much as people like this idea, it doesn't draw many votes :(.
Really wish this or a similar version would enter the game....

My Antidote card is similar. A poison healer, but more direct. I actually wish both of them would win. Sea Sponge for those who prefer to use creatures and Antidote for the permanent users. Regardless, Elements needs a counter-poison.
