Lignification is a card of mine in the Life Crucible.
Since both it and Shrink deal with the same primary goal, I wanted your opinion on the pros and cons between the two cards.
Found it!
Theyre different really; shrink is front loaded and triggers instantly (possible saving you from an attack next turn) where as lignification takes a turn to take effect and needs to build up but has the benefit of duel uses. I considered using a % decrease on shrink originally but decided not because I didnt think it was newb/young player friendly. when your calculating to save your butt mid game %s can get a little tricky if you dont have much experience with them. But that being said lignification is fairly straight forward. I think lignification would probably see more use as a buff for devourers then as CC. mainly because it takes a few turns to take effect. for example if you opponent drops a crimson dragon you take 12 damage the turn it comes out, 9 the turn you lignificate it, then 6, then 4, then 3.... youve taken 34 damage in 5 turns. I wouldnt really consider that great CC. but then again youve saved yourself 26 damage so it would have been better then using heal but not much better then using shard of gratitude (not that i have any of those anyways). maybe if it were a bit more front loaded 33% or even 50%. I bet some would argue its op then tho...
This analysis combined with the comments on the Focused Gravity thread imply this needs a buff.
It will now decrease by 50% of current per turn (100, 50, 25, 12.5, 6.25 ...) rounded down and it will remain increasing the hp even after the atk reaches 0.
Card is not buffed and explained better. Growth, Ablaze, Steam and Dive survive lignification.
