Thought of this one awhile back, finally got around to creating it.  Glad you like it. :D

Yeah, another earth time combo, I find myself wanting to add a twist to the tried and true Graboid Rush and this card could be just the thing. This card encourages more control and stalling than the blitzing of graboids that some players have come to hate. Only thing I would change is the card's name, maybe something like the Desert of Drowsiness, or the Sands of Slumber, this card deserves an epic name.

 8) Are you saying Mr. Sandman isn't an epic name?

I like the uniqueness of this card, and I don't think that it is too overpowered, considering the cost of the ability and the forced duo. I know that the graboid rush decks of  :earth :time are quite common, so I like this new idea for a stall mechanic. Nice job!

Mr. Sandman, Bring me a dream. Make him the sweetest that I've ever seen.

Wow, I thought Arctic squids had some delaying power. My concern for this is Plate Armor | Heavy Armor. Killing a 14 HP creature to regain control of your army is a pretty heavy task, and requires at least 2 cards, even in a fire deck. Does reverse time count as destroying?

I would like use this on my voodoo doll just for the trolling power. "Nice weapon, if you could use it."

But the problem is destroying it. 'Specially because basilisk blood and heavy armor are in the same element. Or maybe that's just me.

Yes, Reverse Time would count as destroying Sandman.

I don't think basilisk blood would be that bad, concerning it disallows Sandman from delaying anyone else.

Change "destroyed" to "removed from the field", because destroy doesn't fit with RT.

Weird I got it to fit before.

This fits: "Cannot become Immortal.
 :time  :time  : Slumber
Delay the target creature until Sandman leaves the field. "

Looks great! Seems balanced, if not rage inducing for some players but thats how denial can go ^_^ I approve.

Infinite stall that can be countered with a pretty low amount of CC.  And what about SoP?

Not true. I also make bad jokes... and on rare occasions I really like things...

I don't really see why this is a problem. Notice the use of the same elements.

^ That's a three card combo. This is one card.
I would suggest lowering the health considerably to make it more balanced; maybe 1-2 for both and lowering casting cost for upped. Earth has Plate Armour and BB, as mentioned before, and 8hp already takes 2 cards to kill without a bolt, so in its current state it's OP.

By 1-2 do you mean atk-hp, or unupped hp - upped hp respectively?
Title: Re: Sandman | Mr. Sandman
Post by: Annele on December 20, 2013, 11:41:43 pm
I mean 1 or 2 health for both.

Good point with the easy plate armor.  Healths has been nerfed and upped price was dropped 1.

I didn't read all the comments to see if it was answered, but slumber is a one time use, right? If not, OP I scream.

Instead of lowering the HP of Sandman, why not add an upkeep cost? Say, Sandman consumes 2 :time per creature delayed each turn until either Sandman is removed from play or your quanta runs out. So when you are out of :time quanta, all the delay effects are removed and have to be applied again.

It's not one time use.
