I'm fine with the weapon part, but I'm pretty sure that the shield part is OP. Being able to block 5 damage is just too much (it's even worse if it stacks).
Would just mean more stall decks, there is RoL/Hope that blocks way more already :P
This comparison isn't really valid, as keeping a big hope shield up means keeping a bunch of creatures up too, which means that it's vulnerable to the much more plentiful CC. This, on the other hand, only requires keeping 2 cards, both of which are permanents. This card running around would basically force every deck to include some kind of PC.

Consider hope/RoLs requires

1)Fractal
2)A RoL
3)Hope

and reduces a ton of damages, while NOT being susceptible to PC and dying (unless more RoLs are played, which is not so hard) to mass CC.

This one on the other hand requires a NON IMMORTAL shield to be kept up at all times, and this card. This combo would be quite susceptible to PC although maybe more cost efficient.

Also, for dissipation shield, does this let you absorb more per quanta?

Hm, hadn't thought of diss shield. Good question. Maybe not, as I see it too powerful tho. Despite this requiring the shield to be left unprotected (so a diss shield could be destroyed).

The fact that it requires the shield to be left unprotected isn't enough of a weakness, as there's just too little PC in the game right now. Only :fire , :darkness, and  :earth + :gravity are really capable of taking it out (BE is pretty terrible). The other elements are all left dead in the water.

Let's compare how many elements have some recourse against RoL/Hope and this card.

RoL/Hope: :aether :air :darkness :death  :earth(w/ :gravity) :entropy :fire :gravity :time :water

This: :darkness :fire :earth(w/ :gravity) :gravity

See the difference?

This card is what elements needs...stuff to improve shields!!!
