What happens if I have two on  the field and my opponent casts a spell?
Reading the notes helps. Having two means you can target either.
Perception is the source of misunderstanding.

Why, yes. I do have a Mindgate necklace. It's how I ninja everyone.

Have you searched to see if the effect has been done before?
Yep. Closest I found was Follow Me (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=30285.0).

Health should be 2 at most. Super cheap mass pseudo-quint, getting it off the field should be easy.
Hmm, would that make it too easy to get rid of?

I think it would target the first one in the order of actions.

No. This doesn't make a spell automatically target the Red Herring; rather, the Red Herring becomes the only one of your creatures that can be targeted. The opponent can choose which Red Herring to target, or target one of their creatures if they so choose.

That is not true. I'll admit that the rules surrounding this are vague, but we're trying to rectify this problem.

In general, a card idea similar to one previously made can be submitted, but only if that card has either not been submitted or is archived, and you either have permission from the original author OR the original author has been inactive for an extended period of time.

Even if that were not the case, I consider this to be sufficiently different from both Follow Me and Graviton Spellcaller (as well has having a better theme). Now, please keep the off-topic posts to a minimum.

Would you please make the case for it being significantly different from Spellcaller|Spellbender?
As far as I can see it is identical to the primary part of Spellbender. In Spellcaller's case the only difference is with AoE spells like Rain of Fire.

As I explained, this is unnecessary. However, for the record ...
Spellcaller | Spellbender prevents the targeter from targeting the opponent's creatures. Red Herring does not.Spellcaller | Spellbender does not affect abilities, only spells.AoE, as you mentioned (with Spellbender).Spellbender does not affect bolts.Spellcaller | Spellbender has a secondary effect that works well alongside its primary effect.
That and the different element and better theme.

@Moomoose
You always hold the similarity guideline to its restricting extreme. What are your thoughts on Xeno's argument? Please ensure you are polite because this is meant as an example to others. For now please trust me that Graviton Spellcaller is the relevant comparison to evaluate.

As I explained, this is unnecessary. However, for the record ...
1) The card in question is somewhat similar to an Archived card. Archived cards are not to be repeated. Hence this is necessary.
2) It gives others a model for how authors should react when someone questions if their card is or is not too similar.

In contrast, I believe that Archived cards are fair game if the maker of the original idea has been inactive. Otherwise, it is merely good etiquette to ask the maker of the original idea if you can "remake" the card.

On topic: I just find that this card messes too much with Steam Machine. They have lower cost than both, and their HPs are as high as their respective counterparts. At least Steam Machine has the thematic excuse for resilience, being that giant robots don't break easily. But a dead fish?

Also, I don't see why it's a Water card, as you never find red herrings anywhere close to the water. If the themes were split like this, then Skeleton would be a Life card! The mechanic doesn't have anything to do with Water, too. I'd much rather see this as a Darkness, Aether, or Other card.

There is a difference between repeatedly sending a card through the polls until it is not archived and remaking an archived card in a significantly different manner. The polls are meant to weed out lesser ideas.
Hence the necessity of determining if there is a significant or insignificant difference.
