...I REALLY like this idea. A lot.

It would definitely make the Otyugh + Quintessence combo used (possibly) in a light deck... which is really unorthodox yet cool at the same time. Nice usage of the Law of Conservation here as well. ;)

Please clarify:
Does 10 :light become:
A) 10 :gravity + 5 :aether ,  or
B) 5 :gravity + 5 :aether , or
C) other

9 :light generates what?
Bring back Holy Cow!

So basically this turns RoL+Fractal+Hope into RoL+Fractal+Hope+Otyugh/Momentum/Titan/what have you?

And the upgraded version turns RoL+Hope INTO RoL+Fractal+Hope?

Not something that I'm in favor of.
If something happens and you think it deserves my attention, feel free to PM me. Other than that, I'm probably here if you want to shoot the breeze.

Fractal+RoL+Hope already exists and this does little to help.

You are correct about the Light "+Otyugh/Momentum/Titan/what have you?" but considering light was considered the weakest element wouldn't adding some mechanics to offer running light as main be nicer?

Also remember the card idea was made for the art and not vice versa. The mechanic can be used for other elemental conversion abilites aswell. We could make "Photosynth - turn your :light into :life and gain half of that as :fire"

i like the card, but i dont think the name is appropriate. proton fusion would convert lighter elements into heavyer elements, by producing massive amounts of energy.

so logically, the effect would be something like, convert all your  :light into  :gravity and  :light :light :light :light :light :light :light :light :light :light
(actually not even that would be true, since part of your original mass is converted into energy so you would actually even loose some :gravity)

energy loss would occur, if you would fuse heavyer elements with a high binding energy (like iron - the most stable atom in the universe) into even heavyer elements with lower binding energys.
i know, this is a fantasy card game, but just wanted to point it out, since a change of name for a little bit physical accuracy shouldnt be a big deal.

You sure on what your quoting there this time?

The Action of applying Electrons ( :aether) to a Protonic freeform ( :light) gives a heavier mass particle ( :gravity) and returns excess electrons ( :aether).
In a technical sence the mass particle will be a quarter of the freeform and the return electrons are equivalent of of the neutronic freeform  + the applied electrons but since this is a game an there is a unknown quantity that can be absorbed by the environment I decided to represent it with these simple values on the card.

ok, sadly my english is not good enough, to understand, what you just wrote (tried to look up the definition of protonic freeform). but i think we may be talking about different subjects.

i understood the name "proton fusion" in a sense of actual nuclear fusion (or p-p fusion, the process that keeps our sun burning). it is a 4-step cycle, that produces essentially positrons and neutrinos (wich could be concidered as  :aether), helium and energy ( :gravity and lots of :light) from hydrogen.

but it seems, like you are talking about bindings between electrons and protons (or hydrogen ions).

(what i am quoting there is actually my high temperature plasma physics scrip :) )

Protonic Free form is Hydrogen without associated Electon mass. Neutronic Freeform are free roaming Neutrons, also technically Hydrogen. Under various conditons you can turn either of them into a 4-proton mass or Helium. The process is always Fusion.

You are using :light to represent Electrons where I'm using :light to represent simplest mass.

The Card is not an accurate equation, just a process name and an ingame mechanic.

A Silly question, what is the Atomic weight and Charge of a :aether, :gravity and :light particle?

I think you'd have to define which particle is which (positive, neutral, and negative [or the electron]) before an answer can be given. ^^;; If I remember correctly, the electron is 1.167 x 10^26 (?) g, but I need to brush up on Chemistry again. :P
