Maybe I was being too unspecific.

this card IS a shield.

bone wall has a description similar to this, not including a single word that says shield.

i modifed some stuff in the original post to clear the confusion.

thanks.

Does Mutations, Parallel Universe, Phoenix turning to Ash and vice-versa, etc. work with adding counters to the shield?

mutation - no. it just changes the creature to something else
parallel universe - yes. it introduces a new creature.
phoenix - haven't really thought about this one... should say yes, i guess...

Hmm, that's pretty powerful. I see where you're going with making it the card at the opposite side of the spectrum compared to Bone Wall in Elements. Bone Wall is pretty powerful as well.. but instead of charges, it has to be destroyed one by one, so I think that balances the cheaper cost for this card quite a bit. I would suggest to maybe add more charges because it can be dealt with more easily, but Life creatures are quite easy to get out.. Probably good as is.  :) Life has useful shields already, but this shield is nice.

What's sort of bothering me is the name. How can Proliferation be used to shield you from danger?  :-X "Quick, let's make babies, we'll be protected!!" Although, I have no idea for a substitute that wouldn't be corny at this moment..

Ah! Now it makes sense now. :) In that case, I feel a little bit sad that Bone Wall would lose its originality, but at the same time, it would provide a lovely mechanic for the element. ^^;

In terms of shields, only :light (which to me is completely absurd) happens to have 3 shields, (Solar Buckler/Shield, Mirror/Reflective Shield, and Hope). :life having 3 shields (this, Emerald/Jade Shield, and Thron/Spine Carapace) would give :life new strategies on how to deal with opponents, and also give it a similar theme to :light (healing and defensive capabilities, plus some creature rushing strategies).

As for the 'name' (:P), why not change it to "Flowering/Blooming" Shield, as in a way, you're creating (blooming/flowering) more creatures on the field, giving you more charges?

The problem with :light having three shields is that one is completely useless. You know what I'm talking about.  ;)

Considering it's much easier to play than to kill, I'd say it could maybe work if two counters blocked one attack. Either that, or decide it'll block a certain amount of damage which is added to. That'd be more in keeping with the Element as well, methinks.
