Using this with FFQ and having 6 in your deck = Extremely OP.  Play 6 of these on a field full of Fireflies and you have 20 something 16 attack creatures.  I love the idea, but I'm not sure it works.

On the other hnad, if you have 6 of these in a FFQ deck, you've wasted 6 turns drawing them and waiting until you had a field full of fireflies to play them...do you think you'll really survive that long?

Besides, they affect both players, so if your opponent has a rush or swarm deck, you're equally screwed. :)

Touche, but this will be a key part of many future rush decks.  Fractal Horned Frogs would work well with this.

Or even better - Fractal/Ball Lightning decks would love this card. I really hate the fact that mass creature buffs are extremely difficult to design because of one card. Maybe Fractal's effect really is too powerful...

What if this spell lasted only the turn it was played, a temporary bonus that your enemy would not experience.

This would be a hell of a spell with a army of malignant cells and the enemy without titanium shield/jade shield/diamond shield though, even if it did just last one turn. Even with the enemy having titanium/jade, a full compliment of malignant cell with "lethal" would do alot of damage in one turn for the quantum used.

You could rename it predatory surge (surge, since it lasts only one turn) The upgrade could cost less, but still only provide +1 and have the same name.

So what if the cost were raised to 5 :life for both versions?  Would that make it annoying enough to work into a Fractal deck?

Fractal is not the biggest concern I think. Graveyards and malignant cells are a bigger concerns.

Maybe the first card could be survival instant and give your troops +1 def/heal 1 for one turn. And the upgrade could be Predatory instinct with a +1 in attack for your troops in a turn.

But considering essence rather ignored my last suggestions, maybe I am wasting my time?

What if when you use this card, the creatures gain the passive ability "Lethal". Whichever creature already has Lethal is unaffected by this card. Then you can change the description to fit.
