Nice idea.
I recommend changing the upped to 8 :aether, why:

7/7 is very close to Phase dragons stats, phase dragon with immaterial and 8/6 costs 13 :aether !

This would be way too cheap as  :aether 5, I recommend to raise to 8 or leave it at 7  :aether cost to balance the ease of using the card.

unless, you lower defense (like say to 4 on the upped aswell) since its ability consists of target evasion, then the cost of 5  :aether would be more reasonable.

Stats changed to 7/4 for upped version
Cost of upped changed to 6
unupped cost changed to 6

As for the cost..

Unupped:
6 atk: +6 :aether
4hp: +0 :aether
Ability:+1  :aether
Elemental Bonus: -1  :aether

So 6 :aether is fine for unupped.

Upgraded:
7atk: +7 :aether
4hp: +0 :aether
Ability: +1 :aether
Elemental Bonus: -1 :aether
Upgraded: -1 :aether

So I think this should be 6 :aether as well.

The problem is whether this ability is 2 :aether or 1  :aether

The cost is 0 but going to change to 1 unupped and free for upped

how does that even work? use 1  :aether to supposedly have 40% chance to go invis? thats pointless, you may aswell be wasting quanta.
leave it free, passive. and make the creature cost either 6 or 7  :aether.

I'm not talking about the ability's cost but rather how the ability effects the cost of the actual creature.

I don't think abilities like this one need to be activated. Keep it's cost at 0.

Looks pretty well balanced and seems to give Aether the other mid-hitter it needs.

In terms of the art it kind of bothers me that an :entropy Entropy elemental is used as this card's image. Even if it is wavier and another colour. The style makes the elemental.

Boring, however, does not mean it has its uses. >.> I personally believe this card would be used moreso than the Immortal, unless I'm missing something...
