ART: WhitEOuT IDEA: WhitEOuT NOTES: Confusing wording, so I'm going to expand here: If Observant Orb|Sphere is killed by a SPELL, it automatically casts that spell as it dies (if it was a target spell, choose a random target). If Observant Orb|Sphere is killed by a CREATURE, it turns into that creature. (Being devoured, it becomes the base card, as if Mitosis'd) If Observant Orb|Sphere is killed by POISION, it infects a random enemy creature. If Observant Orb|Sphere is killed by FIRE SHIELD, it inflicts one damage to all enemy creatures. For balancing, I compared Observant to Fate Egg in that it has the same creature changing ability. I tacked on an extra quanta since it is also able to copy spells 5=3(Fate Egg)+1(Hatch)+1(Ability)      .      .      .      4=3(Fate Egg)+1(Hatch)+1(Ability)-1(Upgraded) Constructive Criticism is extremely welcome. What if it is killed by a permanent? (Owl's Eye, Catapult, Unstable Gas, Fire Shield, etc.)

For Unstable Gas, I would have it cast the same effect (20 dmg to opp, 1 to opp creatures) but for the others, I'm not sure.  Suggestions for what it should do?

Edit: For Owl's Eye and Catapult, it would treat the damage as a spell, and target a random enemy creature to Snipe or Catapult (respectively).  I'm still unsure about fire shield.

Not sure why someone would buff this card just to let fire shield kill it...
But if there is I would suggest it just die. I mean seriously what can you do?

If the orb is killed by poison, have it infect a random creature. If it is killed by Fire Shield have it deal one damage to all the opponent's creatures.

This is an interesting card, that's for sure, but when would you use it? There is no reason for the opponent to target it, and all the single target spells you throw at it, you could just as well have thrown directly on another target. I guess it could be used as protection from aoe-spells, but even then it just redirects it a random target, so you might just as well replace this with a lightning for better effect.

The main use I had in mind was AoE protection, as the reflection isn't random.  For example, if your opponent cast Rain of Fire and it killed Observant, the game would act as if you cast your own Rain of Fire immediately after Observant died.  Does that make more sense?

or it wont count as "fatal damage" so it will have no effect?

i guess it will turn into that creature, but this effect is hardly predictable by reading the card's text

I see where you got confused.  That brings up a very interesting question.
If an Observant was devoured by a 2|5 Otyugh, should it become a 0|3 Otyugh (turning into the default creature) or a 3|6 Otyugh (inheriting the creatures buffs)?
I'm honestly not sure which it should do.  I'll throw up a poll.

EDIT: completely missed the non-fatal question, that's a good option as well, as it might help balance the card if being devoured does nothing.
