When you say "spells", do you mean the specific category called "Spell", or is it like a dual, prolonged Silence?
And does it affect creature actives in any way?

Spells as in spell cards. Both players can still play creatures, permanents, and use abilities of the stuff on the board. Does not affect creature activities.

Oh! Good question! I have no idea. Should it? I'm leaning on no at the moment, because nobody is really playing any spells, and it's the creatures that are doing it. I'm ambivalent.

Well, imo, as you have written the card text as "Spells cannot be activated..." not cast, i would say yes, this nullifies Psion and wise immortal creatures. (Is there a name for them yet?)

Truth be told, it says activated becasuse that is what I first wrote and I was a too lazy to change that. But should it stop spell damage creatures? I feel as if that's be some elemental hate.

No spell may be activated (= both players can't play spell cards)
Psion can still be played, can still attack. SoW can't, as it is spell card, but if an immortal creature have been SoWed, can still attack.

The idea itself is good, but from the name, "field", shouldn't it be in the same class as the other "field" as a shield? Otherwise with less PC (...people use SoFo anyways...) plus a shield (diamond, permafrost etc) this might get a tad bit imba.
