NOTES:
"Today is a day to remain firmly grounded"

"Things that once seemed mediocre or useless by themselves may be made more potent when combined. Today, you will have the means to do just that."

Another in a long line of card concepts aimed at making more use of various weapons… particularly all the non-rare ones that don't see so much use.

There are a lot of possible uses since it effectively turns weapons into buff cards

First example:
You play a titan, then use this, then play an armagio.
Your armagio will enter play as an 8|75 creature instead of a 1|25 creature

Second Example:
You play a short sword, then use this, then play a vampire stiletto.
Your vampire stiletto will now deal 7 damage (instead of 4) and if flown using flying weapon or animate weapon, it will be a 7|4 (instead of a 4|2)

Third example:
You play a gavel, use this, then play an elite death stalker
The death stalker will enter play as a 6|9

Hopefully the examples explain most of the idea, but questions, balance advice, etc. is welcome as always

I like the thematics here, and mechanic :) Makes use of multiple copies without having to rely on AW. The thing is, it requires a trio or more 10/12% of the time, which is too much of a drawback for such a high cost, in my opinion.

Hmm... Can you suggest a better cost? ... I could just drop the duo and have it use only :earth but the fire element seemed to fit so well thematically...
Alternatively, what do you think about making a hybrid card instead?

I'm thinking that if you put the cost of Molten Forge and Magma Forge as 6 and 5 :rainbow and keep the activation cost the same, it'll be a much more viable card.

i can only see thins being (kinda) useful with Vampire (would rather use blessing or eclipse), but in general terms, why would people use this over Animate Weapon, having in mind it costs  1 :chroma  (colorless and way way cheaper) ?
and having in mind you have to sacrifice a permanent (and requieres this permanent) to work, it would make you way more susceptible to control

I see one problem: it is useless unless you have both  :earth and  :fire. the only known example like that is Unstable Gas, and this sort of codependency is not advisable.

You forgot several of my favorites

But I see your point on the high cost...
So what casting and activation costs values would keep this useful?
I heard one vote for 6 / 5  :rainbow ... but I'm a little warry about doing that because it effectively takes the card away from the :earth element.

I erred very much on the high cost side when I made this card, so I have no problem dropping the cost significantly, but bear in mind that this card could be used in conjunction with fractal to essentially provide a buff on a stick or an inflatable weapon (fractal longsword forge).
At its current price thats not an issue at all, but if it is made too cheap it could be abused (and / or make a practically forced combo)

I know it's only a fantasy game, but I like when cards make sense. This is a forge so I understand you have to sacrifice your weapon and make the next weapon better. Understandable. But why creatures gain the effect as well? They carry the weapons? Do you expect photon to carry improved titan? :P

How to make this card better in terms of feasibility and also thematically? Only weapons gain effects, but drop cost to like 3 :earth or even 2, and activation cost to  1 :fire.

But that's only my opinion.

But that's only my opinion.
I was thinking that the forge was basically used to melt down the current weapon and then use it to either enhance a new weapon or to create / improve the attack of a creature E.g. like adding nice steel tips to a horned frog's horns, or maybe some kind of parabolic emitter to enhance a photon ;)
I can see why it might be a little easier to believe if it only gets used to enhance weapons. That is actually what I was originally going to do, but I was worried it might be to narrow in its uses that way (making it UP / situational)... Do you think that it would it still be versatile enough even if it can only affect weapons but not creatures?
