I am really liking some of these pillar concepts. I think the game really needs a means to produce multicolor decks (three or more) without having to always resort to quantum pillars. Hopefully some of these will pan out.

How different do you feel this card is from Quantum Locket? (Both cards perform noticeably similar roles, with the only difference IMHO being that Modular Pillar is limited to your hand.)

The two are definitely similar. The sacrifice effect makes for an interesting way to get around targeting a quanta type directly. If the locket makes it in, though, this one will probably be UP...
What if it accumulated quanta production for each sacrifice. E.g. "2 Modulate: Sacrifice a card to switch quanta generation to 1 of that card's element and increase stack size by 1."

Nice idea, but it is too slow and expensive to sacrifice a card, making it UP in comparison with a Pillar/Pendulum of your Mark. Maybe make it an other-type spell with "sacrifice target creature, create a pillar matching your mark on your side of the field" or just reduce the ability cost to zero (unupped) and make it create one extra quantum (upped) IMO.

Yeah it is similar to the locket, I just don't see the game including a way to choose an element.  I agree this card is a little UP, I'd rather not have it generating pillars though.  What if I just made it generate 2 instead of 1?  Discarding a card is a bit of a hefty cost.  Would the game allow these to stack like regular pillars so that you only have to use the ability once to atune them all?
