What if you were unable to wake from that dream? How would you know the difference between the dream world, and the real world?" Another addition in what will hopefully soon be a series dedicated to making wider use of weapon cards. The idea should be fairly straightforward, but a few clarifications and odd scenarios came to mind that need commenting (if you can think of others please post) -After the creature's delay ends, the weapon returns to its owner's hand (not weapon slot) -If the targeted creature leaves play for any reason the weapon gets returned to the owner's hand. -If there is no room in the owner's hand, the weapon is lost (the nightmare combo is intentional) -Enemy creatures CAN be targeted so you can forcibly animate your opponent's weapon -This card can animate multiple weapons -If the animated weapon is mutated or otherwise transformed, the transformed creature gets returned. --If this happens to be a skeleton or mummy, it is treated like a rewind effect SERIES:

Sounds reasonable. The unupgraded version has been updated.

It is slightly different from squid, however, in that you cannot delay something that is already delayed.

Scenario: You have an arctic squid. Your opponent has a frozen Colossal Dragon that has accumulated several turns of overdrive and has 1 round of freeze left on it. They just played 2 otyughs.

Your best bet there is to refreeze the Dragon so that it will die of its overdrive or at least give you a couple more turns to muster some kind of a counter.

I admit, its subtle and situational, but sometimes the fine points of strategy can be important to the utility of a card.

I was hoping to get several versatile uses out of it.
1) It can be used like a squid
2) It lets you disrupt your opponent's weapon (turn it into a creature and kill it or send it back to there hand by doing the same to the creature you targeted)
3) Animate mulitple weapons in exchange for stunning weaker creatures you own (interesting way to deal with dangerous shields?... or an odd titan-a-pult twist).

What if the weapon was frozen or delayed by voodoo/ice bolt?

Weapons lose frozen or delayed status when animated. (Example: VDB against Divine Glory.)

The way I was thinking this card would work is to put some kind of a counter on the weapon and a corresponding counter on the stunned creature

By that logic, I suppose the duplicated weapon would receive the same counter and therefore be linked to the stunned creature as well... so both would get returned.

Of course, if there is a good reason to not have it work like that (balancing, thematic, or otherwise) I am certainly open to a different scheme.
