NOTES:
Insectoid is a new passive ability that I have created. Just like airborne, it is only seen in a creature's specific information tab, and cannot be removed by lobotomize. Currently there's no way to remove Insectoid.

List of Insectoid Creatures
:aether Phase Spider/Recluse
:air Dragonfly/Damselfly, Firefly Queen/Elite Queen, Firefly/Elite Firefly
:darkness Devourer/Pest, Parasite/Bloodsucker
:death Flesh Spider/Recluse, Deathstalker
:earth Graboid/Elite Graboid, Antlion/Elite Antlion
:entropy none
:fire ash eater/brimstone eater
:gravity none
:life Forest Scorpion/Scorpion
:light none
:time Dune Scorpion, Scarab/Elite Scarab

The selected Insectoid goes through three turns and becomes a dragon of its original element. Using the unupgraded Metamorphosis results in an unupgraded dragon, and using the upgraded Metamorphosis gives an upgraded dragon. Whether the target creature is upgraded or not has nothing got to do with it.

For example, if unupgraded Metamorphosis is used on Brimstone Eater, an upgraded creature, it will become a Crimson Dragon after three turns, not a Ruby Dragon just because Brimstone Eater is an upgraded creature.

NOTES:
This is a representative card of a group of twelve cards, each of a different element. The element of this card is the element of the creature before Metamorphosis. A fire Chrysalis will turn into a Crimson Dragon; a life Chrysalis will turn into an Emerald Dragon; A water Cocoon will turn into an Arctic Dragon.

Of course, these cards are not standalone, and only could be played in game by casting Metamorphosis on an Insectoid creature.

I know that there are no Insectoid creatures for :entropy, :gravity, and :light, and it could seem quite pointless to have Chrysalis | Cocoon of those elements as well. But perhaps there might be a way to make a certain creature an Insectoid, so I decided not to leave those two out.

Then just give it an obcene cost and voila, but reverse time will be a vicious counter.

That's what I thought, but I don't want reverse time to screw it over.

There are four options imo.
1. When reverse timed, it goes back to its original state.
 * Problem : What happens when reverse time is used on a :darkness Chrysalis? Does it turn into a Devourer, or a Parasite? (Both are :darkness insectoids)

2. Give a cost
 * Problem : Reverse time screws it over.

3. Make it untargetable.
 * Problem : It's not meant to be that way; I want to make it able to be destroyed by CCs, but in this case nothing's gonna be able to destroy it, even a fire shield, since the card has no attack power (well, unless it's a :death or :darkness and there's a nightfall on the field, but still it wouldn't die in 3 turns).

4. Make it untargetable by fractal, but by anything else.
 * Problem : way too specific. no such thing exists.

What do u think?

How about make the timer realtive.

Crysalis: Crysalis hatches in N+2 turns where N is the the number of Chrysali(Chrysalises) on the field.

Well I can suggest one option:

The creature targeted by Metamorphis is put into statis for 3 turns rather than being turned into a Chrysalis. This way it retains Hp, can't attack and if Fractal is played on it you just get a bunch of insects.

The problem with that is it makes Chrysalis redundent and I do like the idea.

Unless the creature targeted has a stat change (possible as Chaos Seed does this) tunring it to a 0|6 creature of the same type.

Something along those lines anyway.

Thanks

Scyther

How about a 1/2 creature that cannot be affected by spells?

It's an interesting concept but I can't justify the extra deck slot to produce a creature for two types of quanta that I can summon with only one type already.  The three-turn delay also kills this card.
