The first effect is an awesome pseudo-sanctuary, but can you make it five so it in upped machine and toadfish?
I feel like that has a chance to disrupt it's balance, but on the flipside it also allows a for a protected mono-water deck using this and Steam Machine or Puffer, so I'll raise it.
I take it this also blocks your own abilities, or just the effects of your opponent's cards?
However, The wording of it makes it so that anything you pay won't reduce your quanta. Eg. 8 quanta, and you use queen. Your quanta pool becomes 4.
example 2: you have 1 water quanta. You activate 3 freezes and 3 purifies, and you still have 1 water left.
The effect only applies against
opponent's cards, as stated in the notes. You can still lower your own quantum to zero by playing cards and using abilities.
Also your second effect feels useless outside of nova/supernova. I think you should get rid of it.
Or replace it with an ability that does something when there is 5 of each quanta?
It's mean to be an indirect counter against "Quanta Mass" decks in general like rainbow decks and Bolt Decks such as Fire Stall - it can also be detrimental to stalls or monos that use too many pillars. (E.g. Diss Shield stall) This results in the card being most effective against decks that rely on quantum spells and lots of pillars, as opposed to Earthquake which is more effective against decks that run fewer pillars and no quantum spells/creatures to help with the tight quantum control such decks use. I'm considering lowering the requirement to 6 or 7, but that's still up for discussion for now.
Card Updated:
Protection minimum raised to 5.
Wording changed slightly. Remember that this only negates enemy cards draining your quantum.
