NOTES:
Spend some time and think about what this card can do.  Its purpose is to upset the balance of your opponent's defense.  Strong attacks can get matched with weak HP.  Important abilities are now on cannon fodder.  That annoying quintessence is somewhere else now... assuming everything works in your favor!  It is also possible to wind up with all the good stuff one one card.  So be careful!

Oh yeah, and blah blah blah, humans in elements, blah blah, not fantasy-esque enough, blah blah.  Don't care, this is temporary artwork I found online and it looks cool.  If by some chance of the imagination this gets into the game, I assure you the art will get replaced.

Great idea, but I don't think immortal/immaterial creatures should change from this. Nothing else affects them so this shouldn't either, unless this effect happens to creatures that attack you...

I included the status swap as a concession to all those people (including myself from time to time) annoyed with immortal everythings.  I can take it out, it's no big deal.  I flip flopped between effecting one side and effecting the entire board, so that can go either way.  I'd like some reasons why one way or the other is better.

omg human!!111 kill it with fire!!!111

In what cases is this useful? Unless the costs of the abilities change as well?

This is a lot like the card that's actually being put in place right now... Pandemonium.

First things first: It seems too expensive. After all, it's very luck-dependent. I'd take this down to 5 :entropy and 4 :entropy upped.

Secondly: I fully support $$$man's idea. Upgraded version costs 4 :entropy and effects you. Oh yes, :gravity and Otyughs with 30 health ;)

Thirdly, I agree with boomclap. This is because area spells (Fire Storm, Lightning, Pandemonium) also don't target immaterials, and Mad Science shouldn't either for consistency's sake.

Fourthly, the unupped version's title is a concept and the upped one is a person. Consistency plox? :P

Otherwise, great concept and great card.

Hmm.  Darn it.  It seems I have to go back to the drawing board.  This is a hard element to work with personally.

If the other player has a photon and an Elite Otyugh, the skills get switched around and if you get lucky, you might end up making him have a 1|1 photon with devour and a 0|5 Otyugh with nothing.

That's what I also thought at first. However, the word "science" is a noun and the word "genius" is a noun as well. They can both be types of knowledge, one being science and one being genius. Think about the adjective genius. That is some really genius science being shown there. That is some really scientific genius being shown there. Genius, as you are stating, can also mean a personal noun describing a person (a genius).

"That is some mad science, man."
"That is some insane genius you got there, man."

Proposed changes:
Permanent -> Creature (Ability either "Mix 'n Match", "Mind swap" or "SCIENCE!"  thoughts?)
Affects both sides of the field
Does not swap around statuses.

Hm, it still doesn't seem that useful even with that kind of predicament. Well, I wouldn't use it just for that.

It's a lot more interesting as a creature. Ray of Light mad scientist.... Cockatrice mad scientist.....

I like it.

CURATOR COMMENT

To get to the Crucible you need to

- credit the artwork with a link to where the image was obtained.
- fix the table to match the card text with that of the card image

WHAT HAS SCIENCE DONE!!!
anyway did you plan for all the points to go into some kind of cesspool and then just be randomly distributed; or for the number itself to be moved to other creatures also can they go from on side of the field or do they stay on whatever monster the stats came from side?

Okay, NOW are you happy?  It would be helpful to actually SAY what bits are incongruous so that you don't have to review it multiple times.

@Harikaze: The numbers get swapped around, limited to their own side of the field.

A couple of quick questions about the card:

- When the SCIENCE! ability is used, will mad scientist be affected?
- Will this card swap stats from one side of the board to the other? For instance could I fractal sparks and then trigger SCIENCE! in hopes of giving my opponent a bunch of 0 hp creatures?
*edit* nevermind this one, it was addressed above

This is an epic card idea. Fits into the entropy "Do it for teh lulz" theme that's going. Except for SCIENCE!!!

There needs to be a spell version of this called "SCIENCE!!!", which is just the ability.

Yes, Mad Scientist is effected by his own ability.  Not that it matters, as the ability stays on the same side of the field.
