NOTES:
"Why would I want this card?"  Because it enters the game burrowed so nobody can blast or devour or reverse it.  If you get a few of these out, you can evolve them all to start with tougher scarabs, versus bringing them out one at a time from your hand or via pharohs and hoping nobody kills them while they're weak.  They also only cost 1 :time and can do a little damage while burrowed.  Total rip-off of Graboid, I know.

I support having more ways to field an effective number of Scarabs.

My scarab decks lose all the time.  If I had six more, I'd probably lose even more quickly.

They lose because you don't have enough.

In a deck of thirty cards you need at least fifty.

Scarab as card is... ugh. It can be good to have 6 more partners for cheap casting when you don't want to use Pharaoh

"Why would I want this card?"  Because it enters the game burrowed so nobody can blast or devour or reverse it.  If you get a few of these out, you can evolve them all to start with tougher scarabs, versus bringing them out one at a time from your hand or via pharaohs and hoping nobody kills them while they're weak.  They also only cost 1 :time and can do a little damage while burrowed.  Total rip-off of Graboid, I know.

It was good to include this reasoning.
You had a goal and this card achieves that goal very well.
Having it as a 1|1 burrowed for 1 :time + 1 card means its first form is neither overshadowed by nor overshadows Deja Vu, Photon, or ...
Evolve could probably be free since 1 :time + 1 card + 1 turn is about the same as Scarab's cost of 2 :time + 1 card.
You might want to shoot for a more ambitious goal next time (more uses, greater metagame impact, greater improvement to the game ...).

Because scarabs are special (e.g., more of them means they all get more hp, and can devour bigger targets, and they're airborne to boot), I figured a cost to evolve was a good move.  The comparable cards, graboid-shrieker, just turns into something with a high attack and no special abilities.  And it costs you an alternate element quanta to evolve.

But I submit that more ways to get your scarabs going is a great thing.  Pharoah/scarab decks are slow and ugly.  It's the element of time, and it loses out to "real" rushes from other elements.  Unless you get lucky and manage to stall your opponent with reverses/eternity while powering through with an hourglass.

Mind you the fact that just because something may be slow, it may because the strategy would be too powerful it were any faster. I've seen plenty of Pharaoh Scarab rushes that move quickly.
Keep in mind there are other ways to improve your strategy, rather than designing a card to fix it.

I did think this was a interesting idea, though!

Don't get me wrong.  The card idea isn't specifically for me, though this is one of the half dozen ideas I've tossed out there that I'd probably actually use in a deck or two.  I just think the concept fits the element and fills a niche.  It's a small niche, I'll admit.

So other than this card being simple-minded, is there anything substantive I should change, or should I send it to the crucible?
