I think the upped version needs a different improvement, its not enough to justify its upgrading cost of 1500  :electrum.

I would say stat improvement and decreasing ability to 1  :darkness cost.
Now that, would be worth 1.5k  :electrum imho.

Although could you explain how a Sandman has anything to do with "lullying" something to sleep? I am not sure about the theme.

It already gains +1|+1, there's several cards in the game that don't have upgrades that good.

Read the wikipedia page I linked for the theme. The Sandman brings good dreams to creatures. In the game's context the good dreams would be represented as a stat boost.

I know, I dislike those kinds of upgrades despite their little use.
Now a days you get better upgrades, but its up to you, just my  :electrum.
