Interesting approach for solving dead draws. I am not sure if it works.
Currently the upgrade is -3 so the casting cost will need to increase by 1 when upgraded.
Perhaps 1 :light|2 :light?

It is really situational but a low cost might fix that.
Somewhere there is a short lived pillar in the crucible [air I think]. Have this cost 1 :light more than it would predict.

It's a pillar that also counters one card in the entire game. Meh. We're just not ready for it yet. Wait for more things that need illumination. Since there's already precog, no seeing the opponent's hand... maybe you get to see the next card the opponent has? After all, Mindgate could always be more fun if you knew what was coming beforehand.

The name doesn't need to be "X of X."  Just call it "Lantern."

Otherwise it looks good.  Can you only see your own next card, or can both players see both next cards?
