The one thing about this card is that, although it can be ruined by things such as rewind, Rage Potion, and even Lightning (for the unupped), the potential of the card can be brutal if you manage to combine this with an Earth Nymph or several Basilisk's blood's. Not only do you deny the opponent of a lot of their creatures (automatic Rewind), but you can also make it near impossible for them to deal damage to you (unless they have a variety of spells/abilities to ruin this guy).
Granted, there are a lot of counters to this deck that come from weapons, other creatures, and spells (obviously), so I guess its synergy would be heavily reliant on what you combine it with.
