2 cards + 2 + 1 turn delay for a double pillar of selected element. Obviously not OP. The cost seems rather high, perhaps just the discard cost and no other activation cost?

what would the upgrade do then?

If this fit it would work:
"This turn and each turn 2 quantum of the attuned element is generated."
"This turn and each turn 2 quantum of that element is generated."

but when you first play it, nothing is attuned.

Maybe in the upped version 2 quanta could be generated at the time of the discard as well?

Now I see why. What I wrote doesn't translate literally to what I meant. Different wording would be needed.

"0: Modulate - Discard a card, atune to its element. Gain 2 quanta of that element now and each turn."

You may want to fix the wording... When I just read it I thought that each one of the towers would spark off 2 quanta whenever the modulate ability gests used.

Eg if you have 4 towers, modulating one would instantly generate 8 quanta...

I see from this discussion that you meant it to only apply to the modulating tower itself... but I think the current wording may confuse players.

On a side note, this would be fun to use in a fractal deck, since you could run mono-aether a little more efficiently by gaining back quanta during "forced" discards.

You may want to fix the wording... When I just read it I thought that each one of the towers would spark off 2 quanta whenever the modulate ability gests used.

do all lava golems grow when you use the ability of one of them?  i dont know how to make it any clearer...

As of yet the wording is too confusing for me to understand completely. If no changes are made to the mechanic, the text itself should be reworded for clarity.
