so for 2 :death you can turn any creature into a 1/1 or 2/2 creature depending on what it is
isn't that just a little OP?
How much more OP is it than other CC? What are you comparing it to?

It is OP in circumstance so not every time is it OP but turning a 4/4 cockatrice and turning a 10/10 dragon are two very different things in the first case its only a 3/3 reduction due to the fact that it is unupped but sense it doesn't remove the creature from the space it can lower your over all effectiveness, the second case turns a creature that cost 12 :light into a 1/1 creature for 2 :death that is a massive reduction its more than an CC can do even reveres time lets you get it back but this doesn't allow that to happen yes antimatter lowers total damage more but it is less effective due to the fact it is more expensive at a minimum of 4 :entropy when used as an ability from the nymph
To me it just seems like punishment for using expensive creatures just to make them next to useless
If I have something to say I'll keep it to my self then let it out at the worst possible moment and then I will walk away laughing

What if, after using Macerate on a creature bigger than it, it gets delayed for a turn? Like sleeping on a full stomach. I don't think this really solves the matter at hand, but it could be thematic.

What are other's opinions on this matter?

Likely mutation.
My 3 game-modification principles:
1. If it ain't broke, don't wreck it.
2. Simple fixes for simple problems.
3. Remember to fill in the holes.

this is way more OP than mutation since mutation turns cards into 5/5s, and thus is only very soft CC. turning something into a 2/2 on the other hand means it may as well not exist.

Not necessarily, for both points.

that would go a small way to making it not OP in my books so yes that would work

Well I am biased about this one because I have an unhealthy obsession with battleworms. That being said I really like this card and idea, for the uniqueness of it, and for the synergy for a potentially interesting duo. However I have 2 points that I want to bring up.

1. The heal aspect of it in my eyes is unneeded and makes the card more cluttered than it should be.

2. It is slightly overpowered in my mind but this could be possibly remedied by raising ability cost or making it unable to pop airborne targets. I considered also making it a light form of devour that relies on high hp but that idea does not click as much in my mind. Removal of the heal aspect would be a tiny nerf but not enough in my mind considering it does not do a lot on paper.

Perhaps I should raise the Hp? It would certainly be more 'giant' then. Raise it to 5 or 6? This allows more to heal.

2. It is slightly overpowered in my mind but this could be possibly remedied by raising ability cost or making it unable to pop airborne targets. Do you see yourself using this if ingame at an ability cost of  :death :death :death or higher?

I would gladly use 3 :death to rid my self of any creature with more than 3/3 or 4/4 depending on upgradedness and Skeletons are very easy to block with most shields

Maybe this:
Ability: pit :earth :earth
Target creature is burrowed for 2 turns. Afterwards it dies.

I claim no credit for this idea, tweak it as you like.

Hm, I was under the assumption Macerate operated like Devour and could only target things with lower HP.
