Huge difference between Dragon and this is - you get to play dragon as you draw it. 2 drakes can win you a game, 2 of these can only lose you the game 
When you have 3 dragons out, and opponent kills one with say Lightning, you still have 2 doing 20 damage per turn.

Still, I think its a fun mechanic, and its just a matter of nailing down right numbers. Lets put this in trainer and test it!

Thank you, I think I'll just make a poll for it if anyone comes and checks out the thread, they can participate. But I'll leave the  8|3 card as the middle of the road option as the cards in the crucible voting.
