It is exactly like the CC effect of Unstable Gas. The damage dealt to players is the active ability. It only works when on the field, and multiple Firecrackers deal multiple instances of damage. The damage type is spell damage, which means that that equipping a reflective shield will negate the damage done to you and double the damage done to the opponent. Sure, if the main idea of the spell Momentum is to ignore shields.

The other effect is obviously easier to utilize, though.
