That's fine. Here's what happens if you play it with more cards in hand:

8 cards- The only empty spot in your hand is the one where this card was, so you draw  one card. Then the discard one card part comes in, and you have to discard that one card you just drew.

7 cards- You only draw 2 cards, and have to discard one of the 2 you just drew.

wahts the point of a card that u draw one and discard it.. theres no benefit.. thats why i made it a strict u must have at max that many cards so u can draw them all.. the card is meant to give a decision.

The point is that the additional restriction on the card is unnecessary. Also there's a small point if I just want to drain my hand. If I play one on a full hand, I still come out with one fewer cards.

The upped one shouldn't be more restricted than the unupped one either. If you have 6 cards, it just functions as an ununpped one.

ok.. well though you find it unneeded.. it is the exact way i mean for it to be used.. i dont want it to be something just to drain ur hand. ur better of just discarding it or not using it at all then. In this current state for example.. say the upped one for most cases i have a creature and enough damage to leave them with only a few hp. I play this card and get 3 cards.. 1 of them is say fire lance. The other two are a 1/1 ray of light and a sundial. keep firelance and ray of light for the damage and discard the sundial. late game it could be crucial drawing like that. the risk is u might lose cards that you also need. I dont want a 100% useful card. The risk makes it worth using but cautiously. using it for just speed could hurt u more than help u because u never know which 3 ur going to draw obviously which could lead u to drawing 3 cards you need and you only get 2.

I know what the function of the card is supposed to be. I'm just saying that the extra piece of the text is unnecessary. I usually take a minimalist approach when it comes to the text on cards.

i see. Well i agree on being minimal, but if i dont put that then ppl wont know and assume its just draw when you feel like it. Id rather explain thoroughly using as little as i can on the card then cause mass confusion and wrong thoughts.

If you decide you want to make the limit explicit, I still think that the limit should be the same for the upped card. It still has function when played that way.

Also I think the limits need to come up, because what's important is my hand count after the card is played.

If you wanted, you could also make the limit lower, so that the card will only help if you're playing your card and not if you're just sitting there. That would change the dynamic of the card though, so that part is up to you.

Well from what i noticed they dont like discarding effects that are not controllable. the scorp was changed because of it.. this isnt the same because you get to choose which gets discarded.

You also get to choose whether to include the card in your deck or not.
Those who find the card drawing more valuable than the discard is disliked will consider and use this card.
Only hostile discarding should the community be against. (and I still disagree with them on that.)

as do i.. its another form of most card games. if it stays out of this one fine but i think it would add to the game to have it. deck sizes would go up and rush decks not so deadly.
