ART: OdinVanguard (Created using Bryce7 by Daz Studios) IDEA: OdinVanguard NOTES: This is a stackable permanent. The idea is to slow down pillar and pendulum playing to slow certain types of rush decks. I will be making another that does the same for cards like nova and immolation. It functions by keeping a running counter that increments each time a pillar or pendulum gets played. The counter resets to zero at the end of every turn. Then, whenever a player plays a pillar or pendulum they take damage equal to the counter total times the stack size. E.g. if there are 3 on the stack and 2 counters, the player will take 6 damage the next time they play a pillar or pendulum. Notice that this allows players to play a single pendulum or pillar each turn without taking damage, but the more they play after that, the more damage they take. These autocast for free, so they can activate even if it is the first round -Kudos to RussianSpy for coming up with the idea of the autocast mechanic. SERIES:

i can see this being OP in a pillarless deck. if you draw it first turn, your opponent is screwed.

Thats why the next one in the series will wreak havoc on pillarless decks e.g. will be aimed at quanta producing spells and abilities.

Yep, destroying any pillar/pendulum if there are played more than 1 per turn isn't OP at all!

Considering Earth already has pillar-specific control, I'm not really up for it.

I'm certainly up for moving it to a different element if that is the general consensus and someone can think where it would fit better... maybe gravity?

...On the other hand, many elements have more than one means of doing a similar task in slightly different ways:
-Time has several drawing cards: hourglass, sundial, precognition + nymph.
-Fire has several creature controls: RoF, Fire bolt, Rage Potion + nymph, Fire Shield
-Light has multiple ways to heal creatures and players: Holy light, Angels, Luciferin, Sanctuary
-Water has multiple ways to provide the freeze effect: Freeze, ice bolt, squid, ice shield

Currently, earthquake and tsunami are the only 2 effects that target pillars specifically. Permanent destruction works too but is a bit ineffective in comparison. In either case, though, it is accomplished by destroying the pillars. This card provides a new avenue of pillar control that is different from outright card destruction. Its akin to quanta control, but for pillars.

Remember to use the earth quanta symbol, , when writing about card costs. It should read, '3 ' for example, instead of '3 Earth' in the section.
