the upped version is probably fine since it only costs 4 :rainbow ...
6 :rainbow for the unupped puts it on the edge of the rainbow favoring zone. (e.g. rainbow will be favored due to higher quanta production)

Also, without either the mark-based effect or being placed in a non- :aether element, this card is a prime candidate for fractal spam via nova or immolate.

The rampup mechanic poses issues similar to those of the attack-swarm mechanic, though a little less potent numerically.

All you would have to do is make sure the first creature slot is occupied by something with a non-zero attack to get the ball rolling and the snowball effect can begin. I.e. Slot one would be occupied by either one of these with an attack boost or any attack capable creature.

-> this mechanic scales as N*(N+1)/2 damage vs N*N damage for attack-swarm... its a little more subdued but fractal combos could still pose a problem.
Whether the glass is half full or half empty is a moot point. It is always filled to the brim. It is only a matter of by what. The real question is: What fills you?
If your zombie plan is
kill -9 `ps l | awk '{print $2" "$3" "$9}' | grep "Z" | awk '{printf("%s ",$2)}'`

@OdinVanguard

However the casting cost of Faceless is the lowest fraction of its cost. It is the cost of the army that determines the efficiency of Faceless

Yes it does have synergy with Fractal. However synergy is normally good design and only situationally bad design. From my experience with Ambush and Bloodthirst, Fractal synergy exists but is not a problem for this type of an effect. Fractal results in lower low slot damage and higher high slot damage. This can easily be calibrated to be balanced.
