Hey guys so my first card I've made...wanted to keep it simple, I hope no one's made this before. So with all the rush decks in the current metagame, I was thinking this would be a useful card to pack against heavy hitters, dragons, lava destroyer, forest spectre, elite shrieker, just anything you want to slow down and deal less damage to you...other elements it could work in is death/darkness as "Weaken"...so any ideas on how to improve this card and help me get it into crucible? xD

I like it! Simple, straightforward, and balanced.

^ I agree.

My only critique is that the unupped may be slightly too strong compared with AM...

Upgraded AM costs 6 :underworld and reverses attack (e.g. a change of -200%), this costs 1 :underworld and gives a change of -50%
I.e. 6/200 = 3 / 100 ; 1 / 50 = 2 / 100... so this is about 50% more efficient at reducing damage advantage per turn.

The unupgraded actually matches exactly with unupgraded AM damage advantage cost efficiency.

This is probably only a minor balance issue though, so it may not be hugely important to fix.

Other than that I like this card alot.

Good Job!

^ well, expensive cards are not equally efficient as cheap cards. Otherwise, you could argue that Crimson Dragon is severely underpowered due to not having a 2:1 cost:attack ratio like Ash Eater.

im thinking maybe the cost should be increased by 1
think about all the cards this completely screws over
oty
mind flayer
every dragon but phase dragon (11)
squid
antimatter
steam machine
toadfish
parasite
scarabs

basically, this card is too useful to protecting your creatures from opponent creatures that can instantly either cripple or kill your creatures (i cant tell you how annoying it is for your opponent to get out a first turn oty or mind flayer heaven forbid a purple nymph)

edit: scratch the scarabs. this actually does almost nothing to them

How are cards like oty, mind flayer, squid, or parasite affected so severely by this card?

They can still cripple/kill your creatures... You have to remember that the ability has nothing whatsoever to do with attack.

mostly oty and mind flayer
without this card, oty and mind flayer can simply control the board unless CC is used and that's if the CC can kill the targets. but this card--- i feel like a retard now. freeze is more efficient at what im talking about than this card. ignore me now

Thanks! That's exactly what I was aiming for, glad it succeeded

What does :underworld mean? I'm still pretty new to the community so I don't quite understand shorthands and theories yet :/

Also I think what he means is the "delay" aspect of the card working against otyugh etc., I don't think that's quite an issue as one turn won't be horrible on the creature

I think  :underworld is used for any type of quarta in general when doing inter-elemental comparison, and  :rainbow is used for card / ability that require any type of quarta?

I like the sheer simplicity of the card. It's elegant and simple, and fills a niche that :life needs. Wonderful. The only thing is, balance. There's been some cards in the past that used the half attack or stun for a turn mechanic, and I feel you could probably look at those for terms of balance (I'm too lazy to pull them up sorry)

Compared to BB or freeze or lightning, it seems pretty balanced though.

Oh great. It's YOU that came up with the idea. Well this just goes to show that I'm so neutral and objective that I don't associate people with ideas!
