Please try to reword it like this:
"For every creature on your side of the field, take 1 damage at the end of the turn. When Curse (Malediction) is first played, send it to your opponent's side."
This way, the opponent realizes that the 'Curse/Malediction' is affecting them, not you, as the player.
Otherwise, a very fun idea, even though
users are going to be even more pissed that they can't use their healing abilities to bring themselves back up. ^^;
